Dam. that is unfortunate, first update in so long and I can't use it :ud: . For me it is not just some crashes, either, rather it's in a perpetual state of 'crashed' lol. Can't even use the audio engine for a second, it crashes the instance I click the 'turn on audio engine' button. I've tried running with admin, reinstalling twice, tried different templates, and different audio sources with no change. Oh well, looks like I'm waiting for the next update then!!

Thanks for the reply! :tu:
Do you startup using a template ? or empty project.
I've tried a bunch of different templates. I used my favorite template at first, then tried some other very basic ones, then an empty one. :? :ud: :P

:) I'm not touching this version it's a mess. I will stick with 1.3.5 for now.

1.3.5 finally ironed out the random crashes I was experiencing from 1.2-1.3.4, so yeah it's definitely the one to stick to.

That said, what part of "Release Candidate" do people misunderstand? This is not a version release yet, and when it is released we can hope that the bugs are ironed out.

dear developers, please save the heights of the automation parts of the tracks with the project, THX ;) and +1 to rollback the launcher clip design to 1.35 one

please fix double MIDI note line heights and back the glowing borders... was much much nicer, and what is that stupid separator line above the automations

Kinda getting off topic but I don't know if that is accurate..

those polls are really only based off their readers

for example, this poll is different

I'm not Live's fanboy but for UX/UI - still best program for me. Especially in design part. In Bitwig too many free space or too large elements in UI.

Funnily for me this is one of Bitwigs strengths. I`ve not used Live beyond a short demo but compared to somehing like some Samplitude versions, it`s so nice to open a project you`ve been woking on and have a tidy looking workspace.

Like in real life I work better when things around me are tidy, which involves there being a bit of clear space between the important stuff. Of course that`s always going to be a tricky balance in a UI, but Bitwig is along the right lines for me.

e.g. As much as I like the Samplitude PR and notation, some of the many/squashed UI elements are poor on my eyes:

the design of histogram or devices in ableton is soo much smoother and nicer than bitwigs.

Ableton has histograms? Or are you taking the piss?

I've compared the two programs' designs as such (trigger warning: Star Trek references ahead!) :

Ableton Live is like the bridge of the original starship Enterprise -- cold, austere, and full of sharp corners. Bitwig is like the bridge of the Enterprise D from the Next Generation -- smooth lines with curves in all the right places, spacious, and intelligently compartmentalized.

When I sit down in front of Bitwig it's like I can almost smell the leather. I prefer this kind of expansive comfort to Ableton's modernist austerity, personally.

EDIT: But please note that they are both charming in their own ways, and I can see why some would prefer one over the other. But! We already have an Ableton Live. Repetition here is not necessary.

Bitwig - Original Enterprise - all kinds of lights and colors flashing everywhere, kinda dark/exposure issues, some stuff too curvy going for flair, some stuff too sharp for comfort, kinda pudgy, specific tone
Live - Enterprise D - Clean, clear, inviting, spacious, not too busy, pretty grey, open minded

I have to put Bitwig in the same boat as Live on my system.

Neither one of them are working properly
