Ah, thanks! That was it.Chapelle wrote:The latest version of TripleCheese (1.2.1) already has the preferences file, like Protoverb. If you have that one, you'd have to edit the "com.u-he.TripleCheese.Preferences.txt" file.

I'm not very good with reverb. I like everything I get when I hit the randomize buttons. How do you manage to find bad sounding ones?

Cheers !
Away on holiday, so I can only test this on a truly horrendous set of PC speakers, but I think it sounds great.
I wish I was not on holiday anymore. I wanna go play with this on my proper setup.
Great idea too, this data-mining concept for the plugin. I am guessing an incarnation of this reverb will appear in Zebra 3.

Everybody seems to like it, but I find it very metallic sounding... Must try it more on shorter decays/smaller reverbs...

Ok, I'm gonna answer myself. Now I have found some really horrible settings as well. Also, stating the obvious, I found it very important to test the settings with different material. Some settings that sounded great with percussion sounded really bad with piano.Stollmeister wrote:I'm not very good with reverb. I like everything I get when I hit the randomize buttons. I love Protoverb, I sent in a bunch of codes, hope they help. Most of the codes I submitted will likely sound very similar. Now that I have listened to them over and over, I guess I like a particular sound. Over all this is a very amazing product. Would absolutely love to see where the team takes the research.
Thanks so much.

Like so many others, I wanted to express my gratitude - Protoverb is a fun little Verb, capable of very different sounds and I especially love this kind of concept in plugin-development!
So far I liked (and send) this very wide Reverb, that I'd call a plate-club. It's got some kind of a pre-delay or build-up feel. But the tail seems quite lush and it works well on snare (bring down the stereo-width of the output...)
ETUR137S-HSNOP
It's really interesting, how small tweakings in the code will effect the outcome. I found this room, a little dark but quite realistic and easy to blend: CILRZ38S-AZYSYZN
And if you just change the "L" to a "P" (CIPRZ38S-AZYSYZN) - it becomes a vocal-spread-verb (not unlike some old TC algorythms), which might help to seperate a signal in a mix.
u-he you just nailed my ludic drive! What more could I wish for on christmas?

I'm enjoying Protoverb.
It seems that Protoverb can generate codes that the "send code" page does not accept. This is on a pretty stock Windows 7 with Firefox. I'll attach a screenshot. I think the problem is the question mark. It's too bad, this is a nice room setting that I would use. I think the right fix is in the web page because otherwise you'd need to change the encoding that Protoverb uses.
