It's that simple.
They have these new things called "glasses"......you should try them. Work wonders for me. :tu:

Wise ass, I wear glasses. They only help so much.

Maybe you'd like to have my eyes and my problems for a day. No? I didn't so.

I can't see the GUI well enough to use it.

End of story!

well here's the deal. it's fairly simple. Sylenth has some of the most purely digital oscillators ever. it takes a fair amount of processing to make them lose their cliché computer-drawn appearance on the oscilloscope. some people think all soft synths are like that - they're not, that's kind of rare. the thing is, raw digital audio done right sounds pretty great. you will obviously have a more prominent instrument when every harmonic is always exactly at the same level forever.

but Harmor is a lot better at all of that.

Afaik the GUI of the new version can be resized.
I can't read those labels, either, currently, but I know them all by heart now, so it doesn't matter. I would welcome a bigger value readout in the display, though.

I don't know whether the fact that waveforms look perfect has much of an impact on the sound. I think the characteristic sound of a synth comes mostly from its filter. In Sylenth's case I like the 4-pole filter much more than the 2-pole one.

Calm down dude.
You know nothing of my problems so you might not want to trade even for a day.....

I suppose that's a good enough excuse. You've been against Sylenth for a long time. First it was too expensive, now it's on sale but you can't see it.......whatever. You don't like it....lots of people do....and the world goes on..........

Liked those posts. :)

I just googled Sylenth 1 skins.....I've never seen this one before but the Scott Kane skin I'm using is far more pleasing than the default.

I'm viewing this on my laptop at the moment....really easy to read. I might try to find this one.....

The orange looks a bit cheap :hihi:
And the displays are even harder to read.
What color is layer 2?

No idea how it is in regards of readability, but i found this skin quite awesome:

Btw, it has been proposed before, but i think one should not disregard the built-in Windows screen magnifying features, if one has problems with reading GUI elements. It may be a bit more tedious, but then, why not give it a go instead of disregarding software just because their GUI element are hard to read.

that's another of sylenth's particularities, the waveforms are so rigidly digital that filtering doesn't affect them quite like other synths. they keep their basic shape deeper into the cutoff than usual. /

that serum theme does look sweet.

I think the new default skin looks very good, LD should make one ideal skin and prevent hacks and user skinning. A professional plugin doesn't need superficial things such as user skins.

And is that a good or a bad thing? 8)

I thought you'd like the orange since it reminds one of a Roland synth. I've downloaded the resource files but until the Windows version that allows user skinning is released I won't be able to try this one (not going to hack the .dll and replace all the resource files).

It doesn't look like there is a separate page for Layer 2 color but that's not something I would need. I suppose it wouldn't be hard to create a variation for Layer 2. Won't know until I see the new skinning system.

Seriously, Google "Sylenth 1 skins".....there are a lot more than I remember. Some look really cool, some look really hideous. I guess it's down to personal taste as to which is which.........
