Switched from Cubase 6 to Reason 8.

Such a relief to use a program imbued with so many touches designed for the musician. Cubase now feels to me like a tool for engineers first and foremost in comparison. However, being able to flip the Reason rack around and patch and experiment in that world also gives me more bussing options than Cubase ever did!

I've already bought several Rack Extensions (Softube, iZotope and KORG) and am enjoying the rock-solid zero crash rate and monolithic single project/song files that Reason brings (with nice built-in lossless audio compression to save me disk space). Also, Reason's SSL mixer has already really improved the smoothness of my output.

I seem to be able to complete more music and also more easily experiment, remix and rearrange tracks using Reason than I ever could with Cubase. A hugely musical feature of great value is the ReGroove engine. It allows me to really quickly inject differing levels and rhythms of real human feel into groups of hard quantised MIDI tracks.

Looking forward to Reason 9; hopefully with latency compensation, ReGroove for Audio, a built in Notepad for lyrics, and a more retina friendly interface!

Switched from Cubase 8 to Logic Pro X. No more random crashes and mixer hovering.

Well, the mixer hovering is gone in 8.5.

Didn't switch per say, but added Ableton Live and Push 2 recently. Has completely jump started my creativity. Amazing workflow.

Cubase Pro 8 to Magix Samplitude X2 here. Sometime around mid this year I guess.

I knew Cubase like the back of my hand - had been using it for years through the versions, before that Ableton Live.

Happiest I've ever been. Wish I had moved to Samplitude sooner, even had a label release since!

I've used Live for years... I was happy with it. But then I wanted to get a Linnstrument/Seaboard and Live does not support the new note per midi channel controllers so I purchased Bitwig and Logic which both do... though the Bitwig MPE editing support is better. Plus I'm partial to the clip launcher so I'm favoring Bitwig. Logic I purchased as backup as Bitwig was generally too buggy. However the Bitwig Dev's have been focused on bug fixes and it's improving quickly in that area. If they keep it up I expect to be satisfied with Bitwig. The workflow is excellent.

I'm partial the the Session View/Clip launcher concept in Live/Bitwig, however, I could be satisfied with most DAW's these days. As long as they are stable, I feel flexible myself so I can readily adjust to the different ways they do things. They are all more than good enough to do what I want.

I haven't ditched one host for another but I did finally update Logic to LPX and the move has opened up Logic for me again, Logic 9 just got too slow to use but LPX is a revelation. Tracktion is still my main love but we have an open relationship.

switched from Logic Pro X and Cubase Artist 8 combo to S1 V3 / Live / Bitwig Trio. Feel very perfect all around.

First I have not switched from anything...

I still use Cubase (now 8.5) especially when I have orchestral or "traditional" pop/rock arrangements to work on.

However, I have started using Ableton Live again as of the 9.5 update...so much so I got a Push 2. They are incredible together. It is a great tool and fantastic DAW. I now get what so many have been going bonkers over.

Reason is there, but is tucked in the background for now while I explore with Ableton.

How about Live Suite to Live intro?

I sold Live 9 Suite to get money to upgrade Studio One Pro and BFD3, and a couple other things. I just bought Intro tonight and I think it is the perfect fit, it really does enough for me of what I need from Live, and I'm having a great time, it is really nice to have Live back, and I didn't use the great majority of the Suite stuff anyhow.

Anyone has DAW switched success story in 2015?
