A Mac-only synth?

More than a year since he passed, and still no OSC.
All but a handful of his earliest instruments were re-compiled with the multi-core friendly version of SE, and I've not heard of anyone having much problem bridging them.
But it's important to bear in mind that nearly all of his iconic synths and 'magic machines' depend for their sound generation on his specially-developed 'pcm oscillators' - normally distributed as soundfonts (until they appeared on just one too many a pirate site): ie, samples. Even the relatively conventional 'VA' Alphatron has a 'wave' oscillator.
The only ones that come to mind as being OSC-friendly would be the early Fortune Cookie from 2005 (recompiled in 2012) and the wonderful Altair 4 - closer in spirit (though little else) with the VCS3 than most of the actual Synthi clones, it would certainly make for an interesting OSC!

Crisalys is a beast, and Nero and Latte are both of the 'simple' type that some people are asking for. Not absolutely sure about Crisalys, but the other two were built after the multi-core/multi-instance issues with SE were sorted.
Unfortunately, they use quite a few third-party modules - so the chances of their being re-compiled for Mac or 64-bit are pretty remote.
But the extra attention an OSC brings ought to generate a few additional donations for the dev - which I get the impression he might particularly welcome right now.
None of the really dumb people I knew when I was young are young any more.

Cold weather! Oh wait... it was 74F here yesterday...

These parts of Sweden finally saw some snow yesterday, so that the polar bears can feel at home.
Fun for the kids but means I have to break my back shoveling :P

Anyway, Any One Synth could be fun. I've explored Rhino way too little since I bought it so I guess I'd do either that or Wusik8k.

Helm by matt tytel.

I hope this may come to OSC....

BPB rated this one as third best freeware instrument (practically best VA synthesizer as per BPB because... The first and second are grace sampler and alter/ego respectively, which are of separate category instruments).

Very important point! Definitely give a report on any synth you recommend :tu:

Basic stuff to check:
-CPU Usage / Latency
-Ram Usage
-Does project crash if saved, and loaded?
-Do the presets save when project is saved?
-Which daw did you use?

 I'll take care in future before I suggest any. I thought BPB rating would have been given after proper usage.

And... Happy New Year 2016... To KVR OSC Community. :) (In advance for some part of the world... ;) )
