I was on Win10, then last night there was an upgrade and I went for it. I have no idea what version of Win10 I'm on now, and I have no idea what that upgrade did for/against me. I guess I need to look it up as nothing really seems to have changed.
I tend to jump in without thinking too much about it. So far that method hasn't hurt me, but I'm sure it will sometime in the future. I was an early adopter of Win8, Win7, and WinXP, too. Vista was the only version I didn't upgrade to.
What OS are you using in late 2015?

It should be this: http://www.howtogeek.com/232176/whats-n ... ll-update/ I think most changes are rather of cosmetical nature, e.g. the context menus when you right-click on the task bar, or on the start menu have a black background now. Plus there are a few changes to the Microsoft apps, Edge got an update for example which added a few features, and i think they fixed some bugs. I see, so it was a rollout. That's why I didn't get it until the 11th of Dec.
I am glad that they've returned to a semi-transparent start menu (purely cosmetic, I know). I just wish application windows were more like Win7 instead of like Win8.

Finally decided to upgrade my desktop to Win8.1 64bit from 7 32bit, mainly as I've been holding out for a while and can't use my touch screen properly with everything I own.
Won't be upgrading for another 7 years at least.
So installed 8 fresh (not update) from disk, required to upgrade to 8.1.
Update check and downloading is ridiculously slow so used an offline upgrade utility, worked great and way faster than the built in update utility.
Downloaded 8.1 ISO as MS downloads are f**king slow, as mentioned
Went to then upgrade to 8.1 and discovered the win8 install hadn't increased the system reserved partition size, it was only 100mb and 8.1 ( also 10 ) requires 350mb...........so had to use 3rd party prog to increase the size and then start install process all over.
Won't be upgrading for another 7 years at least.

Still Windows 7. I might consider moving to Windows 10, but honestly too lazy to do that. Sooner or later it will cause some problems with drivers, libraries, registry or whatever.

Unlike version 8 which installed easily and automatically with all correct drivers (except creamware and Rme), 8.1 didn't recognise anything and had to swap USB slot for wifi dongle to get it to work.
How can a clean OS upgrade within the same major version number be such a trial!!!

Dual boot with Windows 10 64 bit and Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.3.
I can't see it happening any time soon, but if I could run Ableton seamlessly on Linux Mint, Windows would be out of the window. Although I do quite like Windows 10, as it reminds me of what Windows XP would be like if it was going through a mid-life crisis and just bought itself some new bike leathers, but no bike.

This is a dead horse, but win 10 here across the board. Bumps, it has had (way too long a story as to why I went all in, not really important either)
But, overall, it's really pretty slick. They've worked much on the "update/not liking software/insta reboot thing" which I don't understand why it was a thing at all, but at least they are listening/improving.
Visually, once you get used to the "downgrade" in some sense, it's light-years from 7. Much easier to navigate and customize. Easier on the eyes long-term too imho.

BTW, not surprised by the poll results. Pretty commonly telling. 7 was a masterpiece in the OS market imho, and with 10, I think that many that are using it upgraded on something else to start. Then, onces they "tested" it, upgraded full on.
But even if I'm wrong, that little icon on peoples 7/8 OS's is very tempting

Win 3.1 and WinXP on my audio machines. My Yamaha 01X and XG1000 would be rendered useless otherwise.....
