The Vst midi drone from the composer in Mulab shows 16 channels in the modular editor , but after 4 midi drone channels assigned to 4 racks ..it stops.. no racks assigning anymore ?
Is the composer midi drone limited to 4 midi channels ?
That is not workable ..16 midi channels at least

A midi channel splitter connected to 2 racks.
Start with 2 midi channels ..but no sound on rack 1 when i play on the instrument channel 1 in th ecomposer with midi channel 1
How to get a working setup with the drone .. can i test the midi events on the cognitone drone ?

Red outputs are audio not midi, maybe you need to connect the input of the splitter to the blue output of the drone.
To check whats happening you can connect an EVENT MONITOR also to the drone output

Fantastic bibz1st! ..when i connect the midi channel splitter event input 1 to event output 1 of the drone with a blue cable .. it is possible to play the synth in Mulab from the composer
What me is worrying that i not come up with a reasoning why it is working now ?
After looking in the session modular aera again and put the midi channel splitter under the cognitone drone ... a notion came up now that the events send to the cognitone drone are stucked there without further connection to the midi channel splitter ! ..or in general the whole system.
Yes, after analyze it is logical that the events from the cognitone drone must leaded further
The signal flow is first coming from the cognitone drone and goes then further ..
Well done @bibz1st and thank you very much.

Composing that is the goal and setting up is needed, but it is time consuming ..
I am satisfied when the composer and mulab is working together and it seems that is the case..now there is a midi issue with export/import what is not working
When i export the the mulab demo pure for the leads rack as midi and import it again back in the composer or mulab itself ,the velocity is not there, while in cubase imported there is the velocity showing up.?

Just a thought but have you noticed that the LEADS rack contains a mux with a midi channel splitter going to 2 separate synths on 2 different midi channels, when you transfer the controller data maybe its not picking up one of the midi channels.

Yes i noticed that too, but it did nothing with it..to be continued
Sound Plucky is on midi channel 2 with automations..a internal affair.
The demosong has all racks on midi channel 1
The drone setup has 5 midi channels assigned ...conclusion: then when this is the case : midichannel 2 is not free for the plucky sound
Solution : in the composer i am forced to assign different midichannels ..so also in Mulab drone setup.
Two solutions: i keep the original MUX and free the midi channel 2 , so the sound in the composer on midi channel 2 must go to midichannel 6.
Other solution is to chance the MUX, but better is to keep the Original MUX
So if i chance the midi channel 2 to 6 in the composer and then the problem is solved ?..lets try!
No!.. i must free midichanel 1 and 2 for the leadrack

I did and dragged again the midi focussed on midichannel 5 from the composer to Mulab drone : the midi pattern is ok, but it look like it is assigned to the drum channel 1 , while drum is on midi channel 3
Drag and drop makes it to assign to midichannel 1 to the mudrums ,then i must free midi channel 1 and 2 by adding tracks in the mulab drone with midi nrs like in the composer
mudrum on midi channel 3
................
leads on midi channel 7
drag and drop midi from the composer must be onthe same miichannels for both programs
Becomes complicated now...

no idea how to get this rack sound leads in the mulab drone setup ?
No progress..i must transfer the automation and then see
If someone more is interested in this ..you can use two demo songs of pure (2 mulabs opened)
- remove the leads rack and midi data from this track (delete track) in one mulab opened
- try to reconstruct the lead rack back and use the existing lead track
Perhaps i come on a new solution

It get the right automation at once by copie the whole rack ?
Assigned the parameters in the drone mulab DAW and chanced the the routing of the lead sound in the modular area ..and it works!
Thanks @bibz1st !
The leadrack has a imported midi from the demo pure and this midi is in the composer with the connected drone in MUlab
The automations must be done in Mulab and don't know how the composing process with th composer and the drone mulab works out.
Suppoze i do have automations from bar 5 to 10 ( plan), because i liked the midi from the composer, but want add more...the drone daw has no midi in it!
Ok i stop this topic .

I hope you get this sorted at some point, I'm still trying to work out how that drone works. I've looked on synfire website at setting up in cubase and it looks quite complicated, although it seems using 16 midi channels is possible so why you only get 5 I dont know or did you work that out.
I dont really fancy trying the demo.
Anyway glad l could help and good luck

Yes, i have all sorted out with synfire and midi drone in Mulab and made the demo song Pure in Synfire now as exercise.
The drone is working in Mulab after some cabeling in the session modular aera
It possible to get 16 midichannels in Mulab with drone without any problem, but used only 5 midi channels because the demo has 5.
I setup also Cubase with a midi drone ..you need only one drone in Cubase and a special audio driver ( Multi client)
Because you are working with two audio programs you need a special driver (multiclient) for this and it is only in 32 bit
I do have also Cubase, but i choose now for Mulab ( has only 16 midi channels) as drone DAW, because it has example demo and it is easy for automations.
In Cubase i can use with the midi drone easily 64 midi channels with Halion 5 ( 4 midi ports in Halion to choose)
Let me know if you want some help with your setup and thanks for your help
