Hi, I have a problem with Effectrix on iPad.
when I sequence Egoist and Effectrix is in FX slot (in AudioBus,) most of the time the sequencer does not run...
EDIT:
THE PROBLEM IS NOT with SUGAR BYTES apps, but with AUDIOBUS.

IT WORKS PERFECTLY IN AUM by Kymatica

I just tried this on my iPad Air (iOS 9.2). Effectrix didn't start with the AudioBus or Egoist Transport.
I also remember having issues getting Thesys to run properly in an AudioBus setup. I also checked the midi settings but I couldn't get it to work either.

Thanks for testing...

The weird thing is that it runs "sometimes" , I kept changing midi channels (in the 2 apps) and it would run, I saved it in AudioBus and next day it didn't run... :(
I wonder if Sugar Bytes know that?

Hi soundklinik,

Audiobus itself doesn't provide play, stop and the current positon. So you will need to send a midi clock to Effectrix. This can be done via virtual midi for example with Beatmaker, Loopy, Cubasis and Auria.

Since Egoist should be considered as an instrument (and not a sequencer which is capable of triggering other plugins) it unfortunately can't send but receive a MIDI clock signal only. It has a MIDI out which means you are able to send out the Bass of Egoist as MIDI notes.

As an alternative to the described setup above, you can just activate "MIDI Trigger” (the little lamp of the keyboard) to fire up Effectrix with a MIDI note. So if you press a key (for example C for Pattern1) then Effectrix should start running. Then you don't need a MIDI-clock signal from another app like Thesys but please note that in this case Effectrix won't get any information about tempo and the exact start/stop position.

You can also export the Egoist audiofile and then directly load it into Effectrix btw.

To use Effectrix and Thesys as a Midi clock sender for Effectrix in Audiobus please activate Effectrix as virtual MIDI target in the Midi settings of Thesys. After that please activate Virtual MIDI input in the MIDI devices of Effectrix so that Effectrix receives MIDI from Thesys. Set the Virtual Input MIDI channel to any other than channel 1 (to avoid that Thesys also triggers the pattern keys and switches the pattern).
If you press play in the audiobus panel Thesys should trigger the Effectrix sequencer.

Best,
Nadine

Thank you Nadine.

I understand now...what puzzled me is that I got it running few times in the same configuration ...

I know it runs with other apps, that send out midi clock...so it is as it's supposed to work.

BTW, are you Sugar Bytes going to update to Ableton's LINK soon? :hyper:

The problem is AUDIOBUS that has no MIDI capability. It works perfectly in AUM
