5-bit audio is aliased in the analog domain. The reason for filtering analog is to achieve the clarity of 9-bit tape heads running in multi-tap format. Summing can resolve bit distortion, only if the parts (tracks) are tethered with outboard/digital models of FM <~~ this is why digital distortion is making a strong comeback :borg:

Mmm, yes - You make a convincing argument; Nonetheless - I accept and promote both arguments because I like to combine the two - Even in a vocal genre such as a country for instance. Lo Fi, Hi Fi, High Resolution - It's exciting.

The one thing I do realise though - Unlike most is that analog sound usually used to mean the sound you could expect to hear through live high frequency equipment - Because of course the storage of the signal in its entirety proved a technical feat.

Thankfully in these days we have 88200 and similiar frequencies. I'd like to see higher frequencies of dolby myself - I think that is where the market would be benefited most by such ideas.

Btw, If you guys are interested ina rather original conceptualization of high resolution audio try this plugin:

It is withought a doubt nice to listen to.

And in reply - Here is another group of products (which are freeware) on the other spectrum - The digital one. They are very exciting in combination (haas, outsider and quee)

Cause When I mean analog - For those who are thinking I mean distortion etc - I mean HUGE resolution like in these headphones for instance:

That's been done, it's called dubly, i.e., ultra high frequency dolby.

Yeah - Damned if you do and if You don't - I'm sure Sony feels that way - But then again, though they know they will probably lose the money invested they have plant the seed to sew the idea.

It sure would be nice to see ipods with support for hd dolby and headphones with virtual hi-res surround - It'd be great - and what else would be great is a choice of taking calls in either left or right center surround etc - and then music in rest and fore or aft amplified sounds of around the wearer's vicinity.

All of that could be done with dolby and headphones. Two calls at once and hearing the world around you would be a breeze.

Anyways, I am serious about writing this article - But I recently recieved fruity loops 12 producer edition as a gift and I have been working with it. But I remain optimistic that you will have somerhting to read quite soon.

Thanks all in the new year
