So it's on sale ........ However... anytime i click on a preset where i lack some license a webpage is opened in my browser. Is it possible to hide those presets i can't use?

Vojtech says he is going to address the browser opening up issue in an update.... regarding preset naming I renamed all of the presets that won't load with my particular collection of Melda and put and xx at the front of the name and then you can sort them by alpha so that they are at the bottom of the list and marked so you don't open them.

That's a great idea and I may do that for now, but it seems since the software already checks for the matching license it should not be too hard to gray out the presets without the necessary license. Hopefully we could add that to the To Do list

So what happens now if I try and load a preset that is missing maybe one plugin but not all of them? Does it still load but just without the one that is missing or does it just refuse to load altogether. I would have thought the former would be desirable as many presets may still be functional even without certain plugins (eg I would not care if the preset missed say an eq at the end of the chain).

If you are missing any of the plugins that are used in the preset MxxxCore won't load it.

Thanks - does it at least tell you what is missing? It would be better if it loaded the ones missing in demo mode or something so you could easily replace them.

There should be an option to hide presets that will not load owing to a missing license, or multiple missing licenses.
if this is a tactic to encourage buying extra licenses... think again. it's like a more toxxxic type of nagware approach.
if you want to encourage buying extra licenses, the potential customer needs to hear what they're missing ... not just get some error notice over and over again. so take a demo limitations approach, periodic white noise or whatever.
at any rate, there should be at the very least an option to hide presets that will not load or will only load with demo limitations (assuming that will happen at somepoint). browsing factory/library presets is currently a drag.
and ideally, there should be an option to load presets with the unlicensed modules simply bypassed.
i noticed a lot of presets are missing an equalizer for example. i wonder just how much of an impact that equalizer actually makes in the patches... surely not so much that the patch is useless without it.
unless I've missed something ?

The problem is actually technical - testing the licences is problematic and loading the presets to verify which licences are need as well, so what you want would require a considerable CPU power...

Agreed that it would be tricky to filter out the list (without implementing some advanced matching thing
), so I personally am not too bothered about seeing presets that I'm not fully covered on licenses.
BUT it would be amazing to still be able to load these presets and just have the individual unlicensed modules disabled (or even just removed). I'm thinking this would even tempt me further to buy the missing modules!

Actually that wouldn't make sense much as most presets just wouldn't make sense without any missing modules, they would just do some wrong stuff, potentially with incorrect output level and stuff, it could even be dangerous like that.

OK, fair enough. Though my first thought is: isn't that what things like AGC / limiting is for? (i.e. wouldn't it be possible to have some safeguards for the issues you're describing?) Anyway, I don't want to force the issue if you think it's a bad idea
How about just being able to see the topology of a preset? It feels like there's so much to learn from the seemingly amazing presets from others – it's a shame to have to unlock everything just to see what's inside a preset.
By the way – keep up the amazing work Vojtech – MeldaProduction is becoming more and more impressive as time goes on, and MXXX feels like a beast of a tool with endless possibilities!

if it would take considerable CPU power, it would only need to do so once. or any time the user would press a 'only show compatible presets' button. from this point it should simply move the incompatible presets to a temp folder or similar, and then mxxx will function as normal...except the user experience will be vastly improved when browsing factory/library presets. surely this must be the ultimate goal ? the current situation is terrible... (and seriously counter-productive if you think it will inspire buying more licenses)
also, you might want to consider tagging the presets so that you don't need to load them to verify which licenses are needed.
maybe I'm missing something, but this seems like a simple problem to solve if the will to do so was there... ?
it's the kind of problem you'd expect to find in the second semester of a beginner's programming course

You can hardly expect such condescending approach to get you something... Also you obviously missed so many things we would need to solve... So no, the answer is no.
