I hope that you are wrong. Perhaps an alternative program
will continue where Iris left off.

I did not win the $800 million "Mega Millions" and now you tell me this?Ben H wrote:No bug fixes (some critical) in over a year... no feature updates... the fire-sale prices... I'd say the likelihood of an Iris 3 is not looking good.
It's worrying because if they do drop it they will probably blame it on not having enough interest from users, when they alienated Iris 1 users from the start and tried to market it based on its weaknesses not its strengths in an attempt to broaden their market.Ben H wrote:No bug fixes (some critical) in over a year... no feature updates... the fire-sale prices... I hope that I'm wrong, yet I've had my doses of wishful thinking, so I prefer a little realism in this case.Kalamata Kid wrote:Yes, I recall you had said that there will not be an Iris 3.Sampleconstruct wrote:Iris 3?

Well, you had those sounds at your disposal before reinstalling, just a little crippled they were, but the core of an Iris sound, the spectral selection within a sample, translates perfectly fine to Iris 2. Sorry for the euphemismErikH wrote:I reinstalled Iris (1) .
And I have all the libraries from Simon's subscription once again at my disposal.
All 2 adds I can also do elsewhere and, my idea, better.

Just a guess, but as an Iris 1 owner I never upgraded, because it was quite possibly the most disappointing v2 I've seen. the fact that filters could not be applied to separate samples in a patch, huge huge flaw. That was an obvious need, that all three samples had the same routing...Sampleconstruct wrote:Ben H wrote:No bug fixes (some critical) in over a year... no feature updates... the fire-sale prices... This - the overall situation for Iris users is quite absurd, the impact of this absurdity for Iris 1 users is even bigger. Although iZotope have regained a big share of their good reputation lately, due to a new pricing policy and some great updates (e.g. -> Ozone 7), they have totally ruined this one.
Yes... the CE is strong with this one.Sampleconstruct wrote:I appreciate your 'clairvoyant enthusiasm'.
I disagree that fire-sale prices indicates discontinuation of a product. Infact in my view it means that another iteration is more likely. Companies generally have a 'clearance' or last hurrah for existing proucts before bringing out new products. Iris is kind of their flagship "synth" isn't it? Unless iZotope are in serious financial, managerial or staff-retainment strife.. I'd guess that they are working on their next range.Sampleconstruct wrote:Ben H wrote:No bug fixes (some critical) in over a year... no feature updates... the fire-sale prices...
