Played with it for 10 minutes and wow, this is awesome
Seems like a real creativity booster to me. I am guessing I will mainly use this on a very low ratio (like <5%) and with 256 as buffer, but maybe I'll find other uses later. It's really inspirational and musical. What I've tried so far:
1. Morphing a tad of drumloop into a pad makes it sound like a trance-gate. I'm guessing due to hi-hats mostly. Very musical results. You might want to process your "carrier wave" a bit before sending it to the sidechain, to find optimal results.
2. Morphing two drum loops (at very low ratio). Do this temporarily whenever you need a break or transition in your loop. Quick and great results.
Thanks vojtech. I've become a fanboy and I don't regret investing in the full melda production line

Thanks for this new free toy for MTotal bundle buyers. I'll check it this weekend to see if it's as good as or even better than Zynaptic

Substantially less expensive than it zynaptiq contender, even at full price...

are you using the same, or very similar midi-files for both instruments, played simultaneously ?WolfKay wrote:I'm morphing Dmitry Sches Diversion with Amaranth Cycle right now using MMorph.
Well, how can I say? It's just mind-blowing so far…

Actually, I'm using an instrument on a track, then I use Plogue Bidule as an FX on this track.Krakatau wrote:are you using the same, or very similar midi-files for both instruments, played simultaneously ?WolfKay wrote:I'm morphing Dmitry Sches Diversion with Amaranth Cycle right now using MMorph.

Bidule uses the two stereo inputs in MMorph:
- one for the current "A" instrument (Diversion being displayed as "Bidule Plugin 6" here)
- and the other one for the "B" instrument (Cycle, here)

Thanks for adding this to the Total Bundle.
Just trying this in the latest Ableton Live 9.5 beta and the sidechain isn't working for the Audio Unit.
It appears to work fine for the VST (but none of the parameters are showing on my Push 2 even though i've set AutoPopulateParameterThreshold to 128).
I own Zynaptiq Morph and the AU version with sidechain works there.
Be nice to have a Morph I can use on my laptop without having to carry a dongle around.
Also interesting to see how it might work in MXXX.

AU side-chaining works fine in Logic, so this must be an Ableton Live-issue.secretkillerofnames wrote:Thanks for adding this to the Total Bundle.

Here is a quick and dirty first, a raw/first encounter test live on video, morphing a cello portato texture with a Phonem vocal texture, both playing the same arpeggiated, sustained chord:

Thank you folks!
Just going to do the release notifications now
.
Feel free to compare to zynaptiq and let me know. I believe it sounds much better, has far more features, is cheaper (especially now in intro) and takes about 10x less CPU
.
As for Ableton Live - Live doesn't support sidechaining properly. Unlike other plugins ours support up to 8 channels per bus (surround) and Live just doesn't like that. But you can use VST, it works fine there. I'd suggest asking Ableton to fix that though, it's a shame there are so many problems in quite a cool host like that.

Here is a second test, this time with one of my Groove Agent Beats, using several different sources on the side-chain buss, like a Zebra sequencer and two different vocal sounds.
This thing rocks, I think, more tests maybe...nahh, it rocks!

My first impression:
In comparison to Zynaptiq's Morph, there is only one downside, you have to use the switch to flip a modulator into a carrier, in Z-Morph you can morph continuously between the sources, and the crossover sounds can be spectacular. But the sound shaping possibilities in MMorph are more refined and the spectral buffer settings make for a wide variety of possibilities, so do the compressor modules which let you shape the input sources inside the plugin, in Z-Morph you have to do all of that on the individual source tracks. And then we have all these modulators which I haven't even touched yet.
