Routing MIDI from one plugin to 4 plugins on 4 different channels

How do you select midi channels with this setup?

Why can't you add the note pitch shifter after Modulys? I can add any device I want to after any device there. I'll add a note pitch shifter after a synthesizer, especially if it has an arp and outputs midi. The synth does not get recognized as a midi-out plugin, but as long as it actually passes midi (yellow box lighting up after the device), then throwing a note pitch shifter after it (as the device to grab the midi from) always works for me.

The note receiver doesn't work, Bitwig doesn't let me add it. For some reason it thinks that Modulys outputs Audio, not Midi, so the Note receiver doesn't even shows up in the list if I want to add a plugin after Modulys.

I didn't even think that comment had anything to do with midi channels.

OK I got the Note Pitch shifter after Modulys (draging it from the browser to the track did it ) but this doesn't resolve the Midi Channel problem. Each synth will receive the same Midi data, as it's not possible to delect the channel the different Modulys clips are sending their Midi on. Damn...

You're only shifting incoming notes, so why put it after. If you put a pitch shifter on the receiving track, you'll have the same result.
But in your case it could be usefull.

But in your case it could be usefull.

The pitch shifter wouldn't be used for pitch shifting, but rather grabbing midi from another track's note receiver. I do this whenever the device that I want to grab the midi from isn't listed in the note receiver list on another track.

But, as you read above, since midi channels do not exist within Bitwig (other than a script that separates them into different controllers, probably only useful through some looping of the midi) it doesn't really help with the total situation.

Yes, and no. You may be able to use Image Line's minihost modular with some midi channel filters. But I don't think it has multiple audio outputs.

I just tested with minihost modular. You can add outputs... I added 2 stereo outputs (hardware 3 and 5 in minihost modular).

I haven't tried multi-channel output midi within it, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

(maybe) the out of the 4 units arp can be distributed/transposed to different octave ranges, so parallel note filters(using 0-36,48-60,60-96,96-127 key ranges) and note receivers on them inside different tracks can work



that's 3 octaves for each arp

First, I'd like to applaud all the people that tried to come up with a solution and possible work-a-rounds

But the truth of the matter is, at this point proper MIDI routing should be implemented.

I look at xbitz's chart above and I'm like WTF? No offense to xbitz cause I really appreciate how helpful you are

But seriously, Team BWS?

MIDI routing has been and continues to be the MOST requested feature.

Please implement proper routing for us with those VST's that have multiple ins/outs capabilities.
