1. Multi-outs
2. Fades
3. Sample editing workflow improvement :
Upon editing multisamples to adjust the start and end points, the subsequent zones including the piano roll are tiny by default. Plus using the zoom and scroll is not intuitive. Maybe they can be zoomed in to fit the screen for the selected chop by default?
Once you're editing multi samples, there are 3 main sections on the screen which I like but the piano roll on the sampler vst wastes screen space (double keyboards on screen at that point). It makes more sense to have a control only view of the sampler vst to keep focus on controls, the piano roll selection and the sample wav editor.

- simple (!) and fast clipfades in arranger view
- some basic devices ( upcoming devices thread
), especially valuable for me: midiFXlayer, simple midi chord ( adding an octave or a quint on top and/or below )
- object based undo, don´t know if it possible but would be nice to maybe fiddling with a device, later copy it and being able to press undo and going back to previous settings. That would make sense with instruments and also midi clips ( at least for me ).
- crossfade loops in sampler
- more flexible options for the global shuffle, maybe loading groove templates
I´m new to bitwig, so on some strange things i don´t know if it´s me or bitwig.
Maybe in a few weeks/month i will be able to give a better evaluation.
so:
- more flexible modulation system, sometimes you need a container in a container in a container and so on...
I´m not very familiar with Reaper, but i think that the parameter modulation system in it could be a role model. But maybe that would go against the basic concept, it´s still good enough as it is.
- select some devices and directly putting them into a container via context menu or shortcut
- delete containers or change container type, but preserve the devices in it
The last two would make life much easier, so if it is possible already it would be nice to get a hint.

basic tools missing or need to be improved.
1) improved groove function
# real time midi note and grid moving with shuffle percentage without "apply". (like studio one)
# able to undo when pop-up is still open.
# able to import and use midi clip groove.
2) chord tools
3) scale indicator

you do have a good point there, I must admit... thanks.xbitz wrote:there are fix patterns for thirds, fifths, minor/major triads, inversions etc. on the piano, easier to learn itIgor Amos wrote:1) Chord tools... chord track and assistant like in Cubase Pro 8.5

With legato your clips stay in sync allowing you to maintain the bar position when triggering them...beat chop and freestyle loop mashing heaven.Suloo wrote: what do you mean by that? A clip is a clip isn't it? Notes can be played legato, but clips?

Sampler:
- ping pong looping
- continue sample playback after loop markers on key release
- option for unchanged speed on pitch change
Drum machine:
- A sequencer interface ala classic hardware drum machines
- Stepped velocity quantize, to something like "low/normal/accented" velocity (again thinking traditional drum machines)
Editors:
- A line draw tool to affect selected objects along the line. It's such a chore to do precise adjustments to every single event for example to set all events at a given time range at the exact same velocity, or to build a drum roll.
Oh well that was six. But much wanted!

Well i know this should be the top 5 features so i'll do it but i will add as well in this post improvements i would like (so not really new features but improvements)
top 5 features :
-freeze and flatten track (not being forced to bounce on a new audio track, which is a waste of time, with a shortcut assigned to freeze and flatten option)
-audio clips crossfades and fades
-time signature change
-simplify the editing tools (no rubber, just mouse and pencil, if want to erase i can press delete)
Improvements :
- faster loading in the audio browser
-reset play marker by clicking anywhere on the edit view or arrange view and not being forced to click at the top every time
- being able to rename instruments chain and fx devices etc...
- stopping all audio precessing when double clicking stop (for example stopping reverb tails being processed etc)
- "automatically preview items when selected" stays on when closing and re opening bitwig
- hearing the midi notes when selecting multiple notes in the edit view
- create segmental automation when dragging an automation line in a pre selected time area
- pause, play and resume working even while turning a vst knob or control
- when duplicating clips in arrange view, the view should follow the clips being duplicated instead of remaining steady
- ctrl+D doesn't work for duplicating fx layers
- impossible to move multiple volume faders of fx layers at the same time
- displaying in minute and seconds the duration of a selected time region
- autoresize grid should stay on when just changing from straight to triplets etc
- in layered audio editing mode : choose the track you want to see by holding ctrl to select the desired tracks and clicking the little eye icon to see only those tracks
- in audio layered editing mode : being able to drag and drop an audio event from one track to another
After 6 days of use this is what i found, and i think that with these adjustments, bitwig will be the killer and perfect daw, well at list for me
.
Please if something i pointed out is already possible in bitwig let me know !!! I'd like to send this to the devs but i don't kow if i should send them the message as whole or as separate requests.

ok to answer you :
freeze and flatten : please tell me how it's done
faster loading in audio brower : quite fast but could be faster, that is why it would be an improvement
reset play marker by clicking anywhere : it doesn't work in mutli layered edit mode for example
renaming instruments and fx layers : cool i dind't know for that one it works !
auto resize grid : what i was saying is that for example if auto grid is on and then i want to go triplets, when i go triplets the auto grid is turned off instead of staying on.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could drag a synth/vst preset into the sampler and it resampled the vst and mapped it across the keyboard!
It should ask how many keyzone and velocity levels you want, then goes ahead and create a sampler preset from your synth. Personally I'd love this!
