...NI doesn't do trade shows for quite some time. However, they announced Maschine at NAMM in 2009 - I guess that move made a lot of sense back then...

It's not surprising that NI haven't announced anything. As others have already said, they announced not doing trade shows anymore back in 2009:

I don't know when it was released, but Tracktion's newish synth BioTek is *way* cool. Neatest new thing I saw while there.
