I tried to run MCharacter on a vocal track Presonus Studio One v3 and got severe delay compensation problems, i.e. other tracks (Bass, Drums) run completely out of sync when MCharacter is active on the track. As soon as I Bypass Mcharacter, everything is fine again.

Anyone else ran into that problem? Is MCharacter not supposed to be used in realtime?

Thanks,
Timo

The plugin has latency, as it takes time to process the audio.
Lots of plugins have latency, it's quite normal.
Your DAW should automatically compensate for latency.

Maybe it is not reporting its correct latency.

Sure it has latency. I just wanted to report that the delay compensation does not seem to work properly and I wonder if this is an issue with MCharacter in general or a sepcific issue with MCaharacter running in Studio One.

I just checked in Reaper and everything seems just fine. Try a different plugin interface, maybe there's some problem in S1. Anyway make sure you use the newest version of everything you have there.

Hi,

In the meantime I was able to narrow down the problem: I'm using Rayzoon Jamstixx to control a DrumSampleron another track (inter-track Midi). When Jamstixx controls the drums on the other track in realtime, it get's out of sync. when I render Jamstixx to a static Midi track, everything is fine. So it looks like Jamstixx does not work fine with Studio One's automatic plugin compensation. Nothing wrong with Melda plugins...

When I had similar problems with MSpectraldynamics in S1, I got the advice to click the "!" sign in the melda plugin (panic/reset button?). I guess this should update the reported delay for the host to do correct PDC. I believe that I especially run into this when tweaking parameters that will have an effect on the delay. Maybe this is the "fix" for your problem as well?
