Ok, I've got to ask ...

With the new RePro-1 project coming up, and Ur's interest in preserving some of the older vintage synths, I'm wondering if an Ensoniq SQ80 might make it onto u-he radar: http://www.vintagesynth.com/ensoniq/sq80.php

Siegfried Kullman did a pretty decent vst of it as SQ8L: http://www.kvraudio.com/product/sq8l_sq ... d_kullmann but he never completed or released the advanced SQ8X version. Folks have tried contacting him over the years, but it looks like nothing further will happen.

I think it's a shame because this synth has what I'd term a unique "wide and fat" sound to it. Some nice songs demoing that sound are in OSC 19: https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/osc-19-sq8l I've never heard another quite like it. The existing SQ8L vst is quite usable, but I can't help but think that a remake with some u-he love, it could really shine. :)

Anyway, I'm sure Urs has plenty of projects in the works, but it costs little to ask. Cheers.

Once I've been in need for partiqular esq/sq80 sound: I simple took Zebra 2, imported wavetable, added waveshaper between osc and flt and it was ready to go. Whole Idea of SQ80/ESQ-1 is to get noisy and aliasing WT-OSC into gothic and calm low-pass.

I hope there would be better WT management in upcoming Z3 so there would way to create WT bank from SQ80.
Murderous duck!

I will have to look into that David. I'm still klutzing around learning Z2 but I'd love to reproduce those sounds. :)
