Am I the only one who couldn't care less about touchscreen?

vague speculations, just read what Dom wrote..

it wasn't that much of a development challenge to implement this, and it is minor enough to do it along the other things. I mean just think of it,, all what has to be done is to link already finished functions to a new menu layer compatible for touch. Really doesn't sound too involving..

What kinda conspiracy theory is this..?!

Holy cow, it's done already...!

It's not that I don't care but since Bitwig has such a small team I think they should be more careful about their priorities. Touchscreens are obviously a nerd thing. I want a DAW. That's all.
I hope they realise it's about the audio first. I wonder. Since the last updates I really do. Just saying that patience can be a good thing only for so long.
At some point there must be an indication of 'the DAW of the future' or it will be a failure of bad promotion.
Simple as it is I'm afraid.

No, you're not alone. Based on the way that my studio is setup, I doubt that I would ever use touchscreens.

Also, I wish Bitwig kept compatibility with non-aero themes, which I definitely prefer for my PC desktop.

I also couldn't care about touchscreen. just... why? totally detrimental.

Only if they are using all of their resources into it. I want some confirmation from Bitwig that they are still working hard towards the DAW, but from their NAMM showing to me it looked like a product advertisement / touchscreen gong show, which was very concerning as someone whos main DAW is Bitwig.

I guess they've gotta get paid somehow.

I'm interested in the touch aspects of the DAW, but I currently use OSX. Hopefully I can pick up a Surface on the cheaper side to play around with it.

there are drivers for using touch on OS X: http://touch-base.com/prices.asp

Key word here is PLAY. Touch devices nowadays can be used like controllers for DAW (like app for iPad to use it with Logic Pro). But using DAW in it - garbage. Just look at Thavius Beck on NAMM! HE USE STYLUS WITH SURFACE!!! I mean all this touch screen shit still not for serious work. We need 2 or 3 years before it will be really usable. I can give 99,9% that all people who have big touch screens still using mouse for work!

P.S.: I'm not a fanboy but Ableton Live and new Push 2 kicks Bitwig's ass. And you know why? Because we are humans and all of us like tactile feelings! That's why analog gear & vinyl still on top of this digital shit.

I really love all the touch functionality especially when he starts getting into the note editing at 4.56. I would love to have that same gesture type functionality on my Trackpad 2. I don't see why it can't be implemented.. it would only make sense to do so.
