So I installed Codex.
Copied the WaveShell dll to my VSTplugins folder.
And then decided to install my other waves plugins and again copied the WaveShell dll but none of the others are showing.
Whats up with that???

If you happen to use FL Studio then some additional steps are requred to refresh the waveshell.VariKusBrainZ wrote:So I installed Codex.

Element 2 is now a beast that competes with the top of the market synths,Novalis wrote:So has the sound quality improved a lot, what's your opinion on that?
it took few hours only to preplace a lot of my synths...its on every project
and i also owned Element 1 which i rarely ever used. Element 2 is a no brainer.

Element vs Codex vs what other compariable synths?

I own Codex and that's the only one of its kind that i own so i do not know but...MogwaiBoy wrote:Element vs Codex vs what other compariable synths?
Element is with Diva, Monark and Retrologue 2...holds with them, shoulder to shoulder.
Yes, it has one Osc less (+has a Sub Osc, RM and Noise) but it is a great synth.
It is more of the typical straight forward Analog...not like Zebra or SynthMaster.
What you see is what you get, no hidden menus nothing, like a MiniMoog.

I love Codex too. Doesn't have all the features of other wavetable synths, but sounds much better in my opinion, an analogue richness.Novalis wrote:Thank you for the info!simon.a.billington wrote:Yep that would have been me.
I have since been told by others that it probably does depend on how long it's been out of WUP for.
I would have renewed mine at some point, needlessly. Yes I was an idiot!! Haha
...and so even though my WUP had expired a while back, it may have been less than 6 months.
That could be why it only cost me $10, but others more.
I will say though, $23.80 is still a bloody good price for an upgrade to a $120 plugin. I'd pay it!!
Element 2 costs only $71 atm, but yes, $23.80 is still definitely better![]()
So has the sound quality improved a lot, what's your opinion on that?
I actually like the GUI of Element 1 better.
I can see that it's possible to switch between 1 and 2, but I guess you can't use the 1 GUI with the sound engine of 2, right?
Btw I just got Codex, and I think it sounds awesome. Very different from Element, so it complements it very well.
Believe it or not though, I haven't had a chance to play with Element 2 yet. Been on holiday and a sort time later the kids mum did her ankle in, so I've been errand boy the last few weeks!!
It's driving me crazy too!! Having music withdrawal symptoms at the moment!! Haha
Hopefully soon I will get to test it out though. Personally I didn't have much problems with Element 1, so it will be interesting to hear this thing.

Patches are similar types of sounds to others, or course, they're all analogue synths.BasariStudios wrote:There is few patches in it that i have NEVER EVER heard on another VA synth sounding that Analog.simon.a.billington wrote:but sounds much better in my opinion, an analogue richness.
But it's the richness and the analogue lushness you can get from just two oscilators.
It usually takes other synths many more oscilators to achieve that type of richness, even then they still tend to sound a little thin, because they are missing that something extra.

They fixed up the filters and other bits and it now sounds amazing..
I bought and was very disappointing with the 1 version, but bought the support option ($23) and upgraded and have been playing with it for a few days - very happy..
Some of the sounds are very very analog, and I find just noodling with them as fun as actually trying to make tracks. that for me is the sign of a good synth, VST or analog.
The initial sound on this, and at 2:43 is good example of the quality of the new filters. https://soundcloud.com/zapfunk/spacedrone-elements-2-2

I really dig it... simple to understand... logical easy to read UI... sounds really sweet... what's not to like?
I like all my waves plugs... I reallt want Cobalt Sophia... that is an amazing plug.
Does anyone own Element 2 and Codex? If I have Element 2, do I need Codex? Others have said they share the same engine... they look and sound quite different to me????

With the new Logic multi-threading, it should now be possible to stack a few in a Track Stack.
Could be possible to create some really powerful or lush stacks that way. Even layer it with Codex or any other synth of choice.
