Given that so many devs are offering native 64 bit versions of their free plugins (at least for Windows) are there any 32 bit only freebie plugins that are still indispensable, or at least artistically hard to replace in a comparable 64 bit freebie? Obviously, I know the 32 bit plugins can be bridged through certain DAWs or jbridge, but I'm wondering what the answer to this is without consideration of bridging capabilities. Thx!

Shortcircuit. The sole reason I'm still 32 bit. Until I buy Live, anyway...

As far as effects go, probably only the VoS plugins for most people, though I personally never found use for them.

These developers seem to be out of it for good, but it would be so nice to get these plugs ported over to x64 Native.

True, i wouldn't "need" Firebird either. Would be cool, but then, it shall not be. :)

Tone2 is an active developer with many x64 Native plugins and Synths. Why would Firebird be x86 only?

Here is my list of free 32 bit plugins that I use in my 64 bit host. I could not bring myself to retire them. I did retire most of the 32 bit plugins that I have:

Effects:

ArcDev ET-301
ArcDev ET-200
Density MKIII
Red Phatt Pro
BootEQ MKII
dblue Glitch
Sanford Phaser CM
EasyQ
Engineers filter
Rubberfilter

Synths:

SQ8L
Proteus VX
Firebird

Question: Does anyone know of a great free 64-bit filter similar to Engineers filter (especially) or Rubberfilter?

"EngineersFilter is a filter plug-in that allows for extremely steep filtering. It achieves this by implementing high order IIR filter design methods that are commonly used in science and engineering, namely Butterworth, Chebychev, inverse Chebychev and elliptic (aka Cauer) filters."

Yeah, that, and the development of a 64-bit version would have meant a lot of work for them (according to a statement on their website), so it's 32-bit only.
