i just play with the demo, and, Oh, what a surprise !
really great sounding synth, i wasn't expect that( for a UI point of view ) the interface is clean, i would prefer another ui but, it's very functional, the osc/filter/env/lfo/fx are really good, a lot of great things here, same for the waveforms :)(in reel time)
great job !
and the price is realy fine

Maybe contact Dmitry Sches and see who he got to do his UIs? Tantra and the revamped Diversion UIs seem pretty popular.

Great sounding synth! I'll probably be picking it up at some point. Well done! :tu:

Those are done by Voger Design: http://vogerdesign.com/

And indeed lovely, although I wouldn't mind if they wouldn't overdo the light glare as much.

Vogerdesign does amazing work, but I agree on the "overdone" light glare on Diversion, where-as Tantra is elegant (IMHO). That said:

Plugmon is the best for me. Just look at the new zebra gui and you will know.

Wow!! Sounds amazing! Playing with the demo. :tu:
This thing breathes on it's own(talking about the quality/vibe, not just the demo noise :hihi: )
I really like the LFO/Sequencer/MSEG concept you have here. It reminds me of NI's Massive, but it seems to be exponentially more flexible.
As for the GUI, I think it could use some work overall as well, as some others have said.
Speaking of which, I have a suggestion. I think that the "shape" knob could be a bit more informative and dynamic.
Couple examples:
1. when using one of the "super" variants, it might be better if the text switched from "shape" to "spread".
2. when using one of the "ringmod" variants, it might be better if you put something there like "pitch" or frequency" instead of "spread"
:EDIT: Just now saw the very informative text window smack dead in the center of the UI. Time to feel silly. :  :hihi: :EDIT:

At any rate, there's a good possibility I'll be picking a copy of this up sooner or later!

- Corin

I'm a huge Omni fan which has almost entirely cured my synth lust. Last synth I bought was the TAL101 because I used to own one and it's such fun! So it takes a lot to get me interested in a synth. But I downloaded the demo here and yes, all the ravings above are fair. Excellent sound, lots of fun to program. And I love the ergonomics of the GUI - controls are extremely well thought out imo and very economical of space and function. I wish Omni had the simple FX re-order! I'm very impressed.

But it's so damn ugly. Sorry, but based on looks I could never pay more than $20. Call in the art doctors immediately and do a special "new skin relaunch party" with small discount. Maybe a preset competition or something. Then I'll be back to purchase. Call me shallow but there it is.

Great sound, the pads are especially nice for me...but I need a resizeable GUI. Possible?

Magic. That is the only rational explanation.

A work of art that's for sure. This gui screams to be touched and tweaked..sublime and very professional.

The King needs a Queen let's hope it's Arcsynth.

Plugmon's free flataholic skin for Diva is quite interesting too. While I do like nostalgic designs, I find it let's me concentrate more on the sound.

More ideas to improve usability that have nothing to do with skinning.
  • Keeping the button pressed and hoovering over the numbers on lfo and envs will switch them. Far better than having to click. cytrus does that, and it's a great click saver
  • The current preset should exposed to the host. That would help in many ways, getting a way to assign shortcuts, or browsing presets with the native arrows from the host. Better yet...
  • Having shortcuts built into the synth. The preset browser doesn't respond to mousewheel nor navigation keys (page up and down). it's years light behind even the most basic file manager
Please don't feel the need to spend resources on the graphical design when usability can be improved with these same resources :)
