You can just easily request a name change with us if you don't want your name to be displayed.

Why ? I assume one of the reasons for having a "Licensed to" name displayed on the gui is so only people with legitimate licenses can do videos.

Let's be honest....does anyone really need tutorials for Sylenth 1 ? It's one of the most intuitive and easy to navigate synths out there. Only the newest of the newbies should even need a tutorial. That's why I think it's stretching asking for the name to be removed just to do videos..........

Anyway as Ruben said just request a name change if it's that big of a deal. I'd rather you do that than LD waste development time on something like moving the name off the main gui............

Wasting development time? They have wasted almost a decade, so what are a couple of minutes compared to that?

I have a legal copy, yet I don't like my name appearing on a user interface. I used to have another synth where my name and my city were displayed on the GUI. I think it was the Chris Kerry stuff if I remember correctly

Exactly.....since development has finally started up again I'd rather he not waste a second of coding time on something silly like where your name is displayed. So you know exactly how long it would take to move the "Licensed to" display from the main gui to the about page ? How many lines of code ? I'd rather those lines of code go to something that adds to the sound design capabilities of Sylenth.

I don't have anything to hide, I just think it's odd to display such things on a user interface. I would not want my name to show on my car or my jacket, either ^^

No, I am not sure EXACTLY how long it would take to change it, but it is utterly primitive stuff compared to the rest of the synth, that's for sure.

Little hint for you: There's not only tutorials on YT where so may feature his/her synths you know...

Anyway, look around here - there are a lot of people who don't show their real names. Same goes for YT.

IIRC Syleth takes the registration data from paypal account, mine had entries written in Cyrillic, so my Sylenth GUI says: "registered to ????? ??????". I wanted do make a video or post screenshots in a thread in "production techniques", but decided not do this in order not to deal with the questions like "who are this warez team named ????? ??????"

Would love to change that, good to know that it is possible.

Only if you admit that your assumptions about the purpose of YT videos were indeed a bit narrow-minded...

Only if you'll do a YouTube search and admit most Sylenth 1 videos are exactly what I said there are..........

Doesn't seem to bother the people who made the videos I checked that their names are showing....but then they are using legally registered copies.......
