Re-assign TRS foot switch

Hello!
Just wondering if I can assign the TRS foot switches to another MIDI control. I'd love to have my singer responsible for turning on and off his own effects. I even have an A/B switcher to give him. I was hoping I could assign his pedal to bypass his effect.
