sl23 wrote:May I ask, with the greatest respect, what makes this different from something like musynth?

Obviously it's setup and controls are different, but essentially, I mean does it produce tones that musynth is not capable of? Is that essentially it? Does it have more depth and versatility?

I tend to use presets mostly as well as doing tweaking here and there, but I could never figure out how to use a monster like that to create a sound in my head!!!
The main difference is how it's setup / what the startup settings are

If you modify only a few things at a time the character of the sound is different due to the way it's pre-made path works.

Musynth probably can do the same, but it's more from the ground up.

Yes agree with Dakkra ,Thanks for the question and for the respect sl23 :)
Mu-synth is my go-to synth and I think for all of us is so,I created this patch for fun ,to get familiar with Mux and It is not a direct competitor of Musynth,I'm creating other patches and I planned to clone few famous virtual synth always for fun but I decided to experiment a bit before and that is the result , is not a clone but inspired by Elka Synthex and Mux allows me to do something that many years ago I could only dream.
I think it's a good idea share and show the different possibilities that Mux offers,I'd like to see more patches Like Wavework,Silencio..but also some presets for Musynth made by us users
I see many great FX patches and I'm more focused on the synth,I think it's always nice to have some nice patches in the folder.

About to try it out, but a point about the look of it. I think it looks really good and shows that with the right colours, layout etc, MuLab/MUX modules can look really quite nice. The UI is discussed in another thread, but I think this shows a complete overhaul isn't required. Just some nice skins and instruments like this in the promotional material might help MuLab get up the ladder where it belongs.

Thanks mgiambro fully agree
in this my first patch I focused on all functions and a lot on the user interface exactly to try and show the potential of MULAB/MUX
as said sl 23 is a monster synth but the result I wanted at the moment was just that ,it is an experiment and certainly not the best of immediacy and simplicity but show the enormous potential of mux
this does not 'is the final result ,my idea was to make a clone of Synthex and I'm still working on it (lacks a bbd chorus and some tweaking )and when it is finished it will share because it's really a nice patch.
I'm also working on a patch for kick drum but especially on a Sylenth clone (only the structure not the ui)then I wondered why copy only the limits of the original ? Mux offers much more endless possibilities and let's not forget it M7 is coming (features audio rate modulation :hyper: )
So I'm waiting to make not a Sylenth1 clone(I hate that synth) but a Sylenth + :hihi:
I do it for fun and..

Waiting for M7 I decided to merge several projects and do something nice ,not a specific clone but the patch is still inspired by some famous synth (and any resemblance to other synth is purely coincidental :hihi: )
I kept the layout used in syntai-x and I thought to make more versions ,one simple, one with modulations and another with mfo oscillators (2 standard oscillator and 2 mfo)
if anyone interested this is a screenshot (the version with with modulations)
there anything I can improve in the layout,colors..before finishing the patch?

Looks good, better than the first one, imho, the first one looked a bit complex, this one looks more comprehensible. Is the patch available to have a play with it?

Post

Edit:I completed the patch and shared in the first post

Thanks Jo MULAB/MUX are really amazing tools :)

I updated the file , corrected some things and added a version with mfo

Is there an official place where we can find and download all 3rd party patches for MuLab & Mux?

Hi Nielzie I do not know if there, but it would be a nice idea to have a central place to collect all the users patches I had read something in another thread if I remember correctly
