Worst Laptop that will run Tracktion

if you're prepared to render to disk heaps, that laptop will be fine
I ran Tracktion on a PII 400 for a while, it was only VST effects that were giving me headaches
and you might wanna fork out for a faster laptop drive if you can spare the cash

Ok... so it looks like it will run on some of the older comuputers.... does it need a good graphics card.... i was looking at this one laptop but it only had an 8 meg graphics card.

Your graphics card will be the least of your concerns. I wouldn't sweat it. If it can display SVGA, it can display Tracktion.

works on my laptop PII 233. 20 Gb fast HD. That's the point.

Powerbook G3 266 (wallstreet), 384mb RAM, 20gb 5400 rpm hd.
Selling on ebay for 250.00 or so.
Built-in audio is good for 16 bit but I leave the input gain at 0 and use a mackie 1202 vlz....also a very good value.
As much as I love macs, I really think the credit here goes to Jules. Tracktion is very stable on this 6 year old laptop. I'm not going to run a studio on this set-up but I've got good ears and a lot of experience working in much larger studios (like warner bros' now defunct "Loft" in Nashville). The limitations are a blessing (at least I keep telling myself this until I can get a used ibook G4. Budget? What budget, I'm an artist!)
If I were updating used on the cheap, I'd be relatively happy with a 500 mhz g3 ibook - used & refurb available for about 500.00.
Selling on ebay for 250.00 or so.
