I just asked ReFX about buying Vanguard. They told me the same thing. :(

Post

Vanguard seemed to be developed by Markus Krause (former Markus Feil before he married) from Tone2. You could try to check Tone2 synths like e.g. Saurus 2, Electra 2.1 or Gladiator as a replacement.
All of those got an Arpegiator/sequencer that could alos act as a Gated Arp if that is what you need.

If you are interested in wavetable synths you could also wait for teh upcoming Tone2 Icarus synth.
Two of the 60+ filter modes in Icarus will be based on and/or inspired by a 303 fiter.

Yeah, teamed with Pimpel, Markus should be able to code awesome barking filters

With ReFX abandoning Vanguard doesn't mean the synth stops working. I don't see the need to replace.
Even if hosts stop running 32bit plugins there is always JBridge.

FWIW like a few other long time Tone2 testers and sound designers (e.g. MaxSynths, GeorgeZ and Mac Of Bionight) i am mentioned at that "Our Team" page too:
https://tone2.com/html/our%20team.html

More details about Pimplel posted at that page at the link (see the bottom part at "Charities"):
Markus gave the dog ‘Pimpel’ a new home. Pimpel is from a Hungarian killing station for animals.

No it's more about how many people could be part of the "a**holes" and/or Tone2 bashers team.

FWIW i did never hide that i am reated to certain develeopers like e.g. Tone2 and Waldorf and am even using my real name (see my signature) while others here try to srtay anonymous.

that's not where this thread was headed

There must be dozens of occurrences where you've mentioned Icarus and then said 'but I can't talk about it'

If you can't talk about it, don't keep talking about it! It's not hard! :)

If you read my posts properly (it's not that hatd...) i did not mention just Icarus but also others synths.

I mostly mentioned Icarus as the Op asked for "acid" and Icarus will include 2 303 based/inspired filter modes (have not tested how close they are tot the real thing yet). I also mentioned "If you are interested in wavetable synths" to be more clear.

As Markus was one of teh Vanguard develeopers and due to the fact that the Tone2 synths share a few similar features it was quite obvious to give a hibt about Tone 2 synths here.

But klike always some "usual suspects" will start the usual trolling and/or bashing game as soon as the name "Tone2" is mentioned.

Again, it's got nothing to do with Tone2. That chip is on your shoulder.

The situatin would be simple if certain people would simply STFU with stupid comments when i am posting about Tone2 synths.
My first post here was a normal post where i just wanted to give a few hints. Again the first comment was someone jking about Tone2.
Somehow some people must have realized that recently easily got pissed about such comments/replies, especially as i am not intersteded in any fighting, just in providing informations and/or help. If you and others are not able to realize this it is not my problem.
I also having nothibng against some negative comments but with Tone2 discussions/threads this usually get's to a point where it is no longer funny and/or bearable.

I am also a bit tired of always having to defend myself if i am posting about Tone2 products somewhere, or always having to read the same BS that is posted since years about Tone2.

If you mention something 'you can't talk about', you're not providing information OR help.

And for the record, the Tone2 count in your post was 5

And again, I wasn't talking about Tone2

Post

For the record, people sometimes describe the signature sound of 303 as "barking". Z3ta has some presets called something like "TB bark". So while my post was utterly uninformative and even not especially funny, it wasn't meant to be hostile :)

Sylenth is good, and I've always used it, but you're kinda limited when it comes to making acids. You can just do the classics with it: distorted acid, 303, Ellis acids, but it's hard to get something really different.
Perhaps define what you mean then? Acids are generally thought of as the 303/Tyas sounds.

Do you mean Adam Ellis?
Yes I meant Adam Ellis. Here's what I mean by acid for instance: http://we.tl/hrYOO2RtYM I've been trying to recreate all my presets in other synths, and I've never managed to recreate this one.
