:help: Hi, is there a way to make a 3 way switch ?
The reason....
There's a lot of talk on Uhes' forum about their upcoming Pro One remake, that was my first real synth back in the 80's so I thought its a fairly standard layout so I'd try and knock one up for nostalgia sake and Mux is easily capable of 'being' a Pro One.
Its not an emulation, its just a plaything / exercise so sound accuracy is not an issue.

All fair enough til I came to do the modulation routing that requires the 3 way switch, I just cant get it and its driving me nuts

LFO modulation can go direct to oscillator A or it can go via the Mod Wheel and then to the switch.
For instance...
Switch in position 1 = LFO amount let through via Mod Wheel.
Switch in position 2 = OFF= no LFO let through at all.
Switch in position 3 = LFO comes direct, not via Mod Wheel.

The only way I can currently achieve this is to use 2.. 2 way switches so that they both have to be turned to off individually and the Mux modular window is getting very busy and confusing.
Hope you can understand all that, I would appreciate any help.

No, i don't immediately see a way to explicitly do what you want. I would simply go for an LFO controlled by Mod Wheel, as then the Mod Wheel is implicitly also functioning as the switch you're looking for.

I see what you're saying but the problem is that there is a possible 5 destinations from 3 modulation sources going either direct or via mod wheel and each destination can tap into the mod wheel or direct.
I suppose I'll stick with my 2 way switches for each destination.
Hehe and I thought it would be easy, oh well, thanks.

You could also make 3 different presets for it, each preset representing a specific routing. That keeps the modularity (and front panel) per preset more simple.

Hmm interesting thought, I'll have a play around and see where I end up, in a straight jacket most probably, its very frustrating but also very addictive

What's frustrating?

Post

Oh nothing to worry about, just trying work out what to put where and how to connect everything to achieve the goal, frustrating at times but enjoyable.
I can only imagine the process you go through doing the actual coding

I do not know if I understand it but maybe I'm doing something like this to make the Synthex clone
this is an example using the basic synth patch check the Ifo global sub patch hope to be of help
i love the pro one 8)

+1 for a switch

it would be nice to have a dedicated module

I was close at one point to what I wanted but it didnt behave consistently and the amount of parameter event generators combined with mod mappers got unmanageable, that was just for one mod destination and I want 5.
I think thats what made it so frustrating as it seemed do-able but couldnt quite get there.

@taifunk
Havent got round to checking your mux yet.

:tu: nothing in particular, It is not a switch but a Lfo patch that I often use to have a sub panel and save space in the front panel and also to have a modulation source assignable to different destinations
messing a bit with the modulation mapper and synth module modulation input/output I'm working on a patch to have a modulation matrix
not exactly in keeping with your request but perhaps it can be useful
this is an image of the patch I'm working

Yes, having an "n-way" switch would be nice: audio, event and modulation in, meta-parameter and modulation to control which of an n-way switch out is active, switch all the audio, event and modulation ins to that output set. Front panel would have controls for "n" and (automatable) selected out.

Had a look at your mux last thing yesterday and yea, not really what I am after but nice all the same. I think I should put my 'switches' in a separate mux too, looks more tidy that way and more manageable.
That matrix looks interesting
