This synth really sounds awesome and deserves to be known better!
I think the interface does need a few improvements - for instance the phase / Detune knob is quite unintuitive and also it's hard to fine tune the detuning. I think it really needs to be 2 separate knobs.
Some of the knobs and switches should have a contextual help bubble also, for instance the R / ADSR / AR switch is not very intuitive and it make the synth easier to use. It's true for other switches too.
More presets wouldn't hurt but I know more are coming.
Finally I wish there was a second LFO, even if it was limited in modulation destinations and wave shapes.
Modulating the pitch slowly + modulating something else faster but subtly is a must have IMO and wouldn't take significant CPU.
Let me get this straight though, the sound is AMAZING, really one of the best sounding soft synths ever made.
I think it lacks a few key features though and I really hope they get implemented, this synth could really become a must have for many people with just a few improvements I think.

Dagger is one of the most underrated software synths and I'm baffled as to why that is... Sunrizer seems to get the attention but I find Dagger to be the clear winner of the two.

One more issue to report: I don't think Dagger reports its parameters to the host correctly, at least in Cubase using nektar panorama the nektar software cannot see any parameters to control, this is the only synth that I have where this happens.
Hopefully something that can be fixed quite easily and quickly.

There's something off alright. On Push, I can see the parameters, but whenever I change a preset, the values aren't updated.FastTriggerFish wrote:One more issue to report: I don't think Dagger reports its parameters to the host correctly, at least in Cubase using nektar panorama the nektar software cannot see any parameters to control, this is the only synth that I have where this happens.

Me too... Dagger is a beast. One of the meatiest synths I've heard. I very surprised that it gets so little attention.ethermusic1981 wrote:I much prefer Dagger to TC Mercury-1.layzer wrote:TC Mercury-1 from 2001 sounds just as good... thats right folks, nothing new under the sun since 2001.FastTriggerFish wrote:This synth really sounds awesome and deserves to be known better!

That TC demo sounded harsh and brittle (to my ears anyway).

That tc demo has to be a joke / troll bait / click bait, I wouldn't even bother listening there's no comparison.

Interesting synth. Very chunky filters
Very limited modulation, but I suppose that's part of the appeal. I really love the TAL Roland emulations and this kinda falls into that ballpark, though with a much more versatile tonal palette.

Filters are lovely... I like the saturation too. I'd agree tho', that it's limited - It'd be great to have more modulation.Sendy wrote:Interesting synth. But for what it is, it certainly kicks the mebbs off Mojito.
Fingers crossed there will be more in the next iteration - It's still early days.
