It's not clear from the bug fix list, but did the bug where plugins reset to default state on crashes get fixed yet?
If there is a crash we cannot restore absolutely everything. Well we can for Bitwig native devices but for plugins we are backing up their state every 5 seconds as long as transport is not playing (as asking plugins to save during playback could cause performance problems or audio glitches). So if you are constantly playing the arranger and never stopping transport for more than 5 seconds the plugin's state will not be backed up. The correct way to fix this problem is not to crash of course!
But here's the thing: I work on a project and save it. I open it again the next day, work on it _without_ saving and Bitwig crashes. I open the project again, and the plugin states are gone.

Why does Bitwig replace my old data with incorrect data without me manually saving? If anything, it should at least backup the old file, before saving over my project. That would solve the problem without having to fix the bug. :)

(yes i know you can drag certain tracks of a project from browser to working project , but i like it sorted)
Ah, yes, forgot about that possibility.

Same thing happening to me with audio and midi on Mac.

I can't reproduce this. Would you be able to make a minimal project with just one track and clip that shows this problem and send it to me (PM or as attachment)?

Ah that is interesting! I will see if I can reproduce that - there could be a bug there. Thanks for giving me more inforamation about the situation where it was not working.

I had this bug as well. It didn't lose the states on every track for me, just one.

Post

automation points(clip ones) are snapping to grid if they were moved with the arranger clip , alternate-paste not working since 1.3, try to drop back this project from the sidebar to Bitwig
aa.zip
contains only a NOTE MOD, gonna crash BWS, moving an arranger clip which contains both automation and modulation curves gonna create displaying issues

Plugin delay compensation seems to be completly broken in this release. I have a rather small project with 5 tracks and with activated compensation the timing is f**ked up.

Is this true only when using VST Plugin GUI parameter knobs or does this loss of changes also happen in a crash when using Bitwig's representation of VST parameter knobs (Bitwig's knobs) in the device panel?

Best wishes from the Bitwig Team!
hi volker,

selecting a MIDI generator device as the input of a track no longer works in this version. no MIDI is passed through.. it was working for me in 1.3.6 (note receiver device is working fine though)

this led me to another bug. since routing MIDI was not working, i placed Cthulhu before the VSTi on the device panel. everything was working this way, until i selected a tempo of 108. after selecting 108, random notes were skipping. tested all tempos through 106-110 and 108 was the only one doing this. tempo 108 will also skip notes when using the note receiver, instead of placing the generator before the VSTi

yosemite 10.10.5

volker@bitwig wrote: FIXED - Audio engine always crashes if user selects weird buffer sizes on ALSA.
FIXED - Controller API: allow to launch either group track scenes or the clips of the group's master track via clip launcher interface.
IMPROVED - Support Jack input and output latency compensation.
These are all awesome things for me- not that I was using weird buffer sizes, but I was having a problem with random audio engine crashes. Thanks Volker, Dom, and everyone else on the Bitwig team- I'm going to try it out right away!

it doesn't work for 3rd party plugs for me at all, unfortunately... im on win 10. will file a bug report tomorrow

I just realized when you choose File > Open (or the shortcut), BWS now starts in your last selected folder. Thank you so much for this - it used to drive me crazy. :D

That´s exactly what I described some posts ago. 1.3.6 works fine.
