I installed a demo of only one plugin and 2256 files was installed. Why all these sound and preset files? They have nothing to do with the plugin I´m testing, only unnecessary garbage that I don´t want into my PC.

unfortunately this is nothing new and will never change. just a matter of time till you have no control over what plugins you'd like to install - it'll just install all of them

I would not call it crap. Just some files, who cares. Take a look @ Waves, there you need to install a downloader and register an account into theri system or similar (even for a demo, wtf!?) ... it was so hard to just test a demo from their plugins recently ... in comparison: with this installer from melda you just press install and can test immediately without the need to register, download more files or do anything else . . . Just saying.
But back to topic: I think it's just a matter of habits. Try not to think about "too much files" anymore. At least to me these files do not have any disadvantages though.

How should they care, when there is no real problem?

And you know that ... how exactly? According to my experience it's the opposite. The developer seems to be extremely strenuous. Afaik the "system with the files" is for the plugins efficiency.
Moreover: still there is no real reason why some files are bad!? Seriously: what exactly is a bad thing with the amount of the files?

It is wasting my precious SSD space, a few hundred MBs of garbage I don´t need.
But I´m not interested wasting any more time with this sh!t, especially when there is already a similar thread about it.
I´ll lock this thread, have a nice day.
