I'd say stereo makes sense too...

Are you sure? I'm not seeing that.sunny_j wrote:@Wild Hades: Does the oversampling only work on the tube stage? I've noticed that it has no effect on the phase response of the filters. The phase cramps near nyquist.
Best,

yup, I checked the vst2 version in the analyzer yesterday.
I'll check it again today when I get back, but I'm pretty sure of what I saw. Btw, I'm talking about the phase response, not the frequency curves (just to reiterate)
*EDIT* Yup, just checked it again. Absolutely no effect on the phase response.

Mono by default ! Ignite Amps. Amps. The amplifiers are mono by default. It is my opinion.

Except this is not an amp.

Correct, the oversampling is only applied to the tube circuit (which includes some filters, though) and when you switch the tube off, it gets disabled, even if set at "2X".sunny_j wrote:Does the oversampling only work on the tube stage?
The idea was to reduce the CPU usage as much as possible (also considering that the tube modeling is quite complex), and to make it possible to use the plug-in in zero latency mode (which can be useful during guitar/bass tracking, for example) avoiding the classic BLT warping on the magnitude response when approaching Nyquist frequency.
Version 1.0.2 coming in a few hours, the default routing will be stereo (sorry for the ones preferring mono, but the majority of users between KVR and FB preferred stereo).
I'll try to figure out a simple way to let the user decide all the default settings for the next releases, I have some ideas already...

an EQ doesn't need oversampling, it's a linear process that doesn't introduce any distortion. only the tube really needs it.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Does not matter. It is not important. That's OK.Wild Hades wrote:Option "zero latency mode"sunny_j wrote: and to make it possible to use the plug-in in zero latency mode (which can be useful during guitar/bass tracking, for example)

You screwed up the quoting, I think
If you switch the oversampling off (or you switch off the tube), the plug-in works in zero latency mode already (apart from the buffer size of your soundcard, of course)

Yes, sorryWild Hades wrote:You screwed up the quoting, I think
It is true. I had not seen! It's in the manual. Again sorry!Wild Hades wrote:If you switch the oversampling off (or you switch off the tube), the plug-in works in zero latency mode already (apart from the buffer size of your soundcard, of course)

Hi,
Are the presets stored anywhere in the file system? (for the sake of backing up etc)
Or should we just use the vst menu for this?
I see that banks (I don't think I'll need these) are stored as json files (right in the plugin's directory?), but I don't see where the presets are being stored.
I've just started playing with this - but it sounds great so far
