MUX: How to set up a step sequencer?

Hi there,
is there any easy way to set up a step sequencer for controling filter modulation in the MUX? If I use a multipoint envelope it seems as if one has to assemble the sequence by adding one breakpoint after the other which is a little tedious. And it wouldn't be so easy to edit the steps.
Any other idea how this could be done?

Use the Mod Mapper, you can place it just before your filter and use note info, velocity info or a random amount to control how much your filter opens/ closes

That's not what I'm after. I want the cutoff frequency (for example) to follow a step sequencers sequence. I wonder why there seems to be no step sequencer option in MUX (unless the sequencer module which lets you use note sequences to trigger other modules). But I want a step sequencer that doesn't trigger notes but modulate a filter for example.use note info, velocity info or a random amount to control how much your filter opens/ closes
Some synth's multipoint envelopes allow for switching to a step sequencer mode. However this seems to be not implemented in the MUX module.

Oops sorry, I meant the Note To Modulation Converter. For some reason I always get them mixed up as I have used them together a few times, anyway ,that should do it.

Here is a quick demo, Ive replaced the Oscilloscope with a Modulation Monitor to show it works

Note that you can already do it using the Multi-Point Envelope. But i understand your point that a dedicated modulation step sequencer is easier to use. It's on the wishlist.DIGIFEX wrote:I want the cutoff frequency (for example) to follow a step sequencers sequence. You know me... keep it general: "step sequencer" is a sequencer that advances to the next step based on an input trigger, so it should accept any type of input, allow the trigger to be configured and store a Part for each step (where the part can be audio, event or modulation and the parts could be single shot or loop whilst in the step).mutools wrote:a dedicated modulation step sequencer is easier to use

That's good news. But I'd suggest to integrate a step option into the multi-point envelope module. Not create a seperate module for this. But i understand your point that a dedicated modulation step sequencer is easier to use. It's on the wishlist.
For example there could be a stepmode activation toggle button and an input field for the number of steps desired. Would be great if it were possible to put the graph of the multi-point envelope on the front panel by the way.
Anyway: For the moment it works to use the sequencer module in conjunction with the note to modulation module.

No, I didn't know that. But I have a Kirnu Cream license. Cream is a very powerful sequencer too. And I may use it within MUX.Have you tried Modulys, free to Mulab owners
But wouldn't it be nice if there was a step sequencer in MUX because you could than share patches with sequencing easier between MUX users?
