In addition to many enhancements in speed and usability, Presonus announces Mix Engine FX, a new plugin standard that breaks the boundaries of what is possible with current plugin standards. The first Mix Engine Effect, Console Shaper, is available free with Studio One 3.2 and more Mix Engine Effects will be coming from Presonus, Slate Digital, Softube, Acustica Audio, and other developers in the coming months.

Please watch the webinar to hear it for yourself:

they don't take risk...they only use build in plugins....Yes it is a GREAT DAW , but it is really a pain in the @ss under OSX.
Cubase rulez them all :D

This is enough to steer me away from Presonus and S1 completely.

What a bag of crap.

This is 100% marketing ploy, 0% something needed by the user base. We are drowning in plugins already. We are drowning in "analog emulation" plugins already. The last thing anybody "needs" is yet another plugin standard, with yet more plugins to spend your $$ on. And what's more, plugins that do the exact same thing a million other plugins we already have, already do.

Seriously, what a load of junk.

and that is officially my two cents.

Isn't ARA Celemony's idea, not Presonus'?

EDIT: Ah, joint venture. :D

Investors love Intellectual Property. ;)

Anyway, that's just for Melodyne and it's very good.

LOL, that was the big raise of the bar?

Did you not notice the workflow enhancements included as well?

There's a lot more to the update than just the console emulation thing.

Well, to be fair, the Mix Engine FX does something no other plugin standards can, doesn't it? It's a mix engine replacement that affects all channels in the group, which allows for interaction among channels. Probably not of much use to most people yet, but could be something that opens up more possibility in the future.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

i admit to being a sucker for console emulation.. though i'm very skeptical of all of them. I'm at least kind of interested.
