A couple of questions...
I have a guitar track and I split it into many sections or clips. I select a clip and go to time stretching and pull up Melodyne.
It seems to have the entire track in Melodyne instead of just the selected clip? The clip is high lighted white (in Melodyne), but shouldn't it just import the selected clip?
After the work is done in Melodyne, How do I bounce that down? Do I Render the track or is there a function I'm not seeing.
As I said in another thread, I really like Tracktion 6, but I wish there was more info on it. I'm trying to google as much as possible so I can leave you guys alone. I know your all waiting for Tracktion 7, and 6 is old news to you, but I can't find hardly anything on Melodyne ARA in Tracktion.
Tracktion is such a paradigm shift from my other daws. Hopefully T7 will have more training info.
Using Melodyne ARA

You could 'render clip' (properties panel) before applying Melodyne and after you've finished.

That works, but it would be better if only the selected clip is detected by Melodyne instead of the entire track.frankvg wrote:You could 'render clip' (properties panel) before applying Melodyne and after you've finished.
It's nice to do Melodyne work before it hits the FX. In this case it's a guitar going into an amp sim. I would like to edit in Melodyne, but still be able to tweak the dry signal in S-Gear after.
Is rendering the clip to another track one at a time how it's done?
Maybe that will be improved in Tracktion 7.

The way Melodyne works is that it will read the whole source audio file but should only playback the sections that are present in the clip. This should be donated by the loop regions in the Melodyne Editor.
Once you've performed edits in Melodyne the audio is output to the track effects bus like any other clip so you can apply your processing here.
The whole point of ARA is that you don't have to render the source. It is a non-destructive editing process.
If you want to reduce CPU load or free up some RAM however, you can render the clips or tracks to another file as Frank suggests.

Okay, so far so good.
Is there a way to set the stretch algorithm to zero by default? It's set at 1.0 now. If I select a clip (backing track in this case) and select all, (using percussive mode) in Melodyne to reduce gain, it changes the timing of the clip.
Is this because of the stretch algorithm or is because the buffers are set to low?
JUst trying to understand as ARA works differently in my other daw. Thanks.
