If you would have had a look at what was posted at Facebook you would have noticed that Icarus has 3 effect slots and the additionally the dedicated EQ and Limiter FXs. In each of those you could use one of around 52 effects. With the routing options it is even possible to use different effects for different oscillators (in combination with the panning controls).

Also using one of the EQ filter modes in one of the 2 filters could be quite useful, all of those also got a morphable shape (using the Reso parameter). When using both filters in series the filter display will show the resulting shpae from both filters and also show Cutoff/Reso modulations in real time.

The Mix amounts of the 3 FXs and also up to 4 FX parameters are available as mod destinations.

Instead of using a Chorus i usually prefer using one of the Hypersaw or HyperStereo modes in the oscillators that work with all waveforms, not just Sawtooth.

FWIW if you want to tell that Icarus does not include enough features you really do not seem to have a clue about the synth.

I asked a simple question, but instead of simply responding or, if you didn't feel like or were incapable of answering it, just shutting up, you've included those aggressive insinuations. And then you seem surprised when people don't get along with you...

Why would I have a clue? I have never tried that synth, there is not even a demo version, yet...

FWIW your "question" sounded more like an insult that Icarus includes too few FX slots and that you did already know the answer but of course i could be wrong. Anyway besides that i tried to answer your question as detailed as possible, no matter if you like the answer or not.

FWIW i had removed the last part of my post shortly after posting it (as i did know how you would react to that...). It's not like you and other never do aggressive comments and sometimes my replies do reflect that.
It's also not like you and others never tried to attack me in the past, especially in Tone2 related threads like this. If you check my other posts from today (and also my reply to yours post) i just tried to provide informations and i had tried to do the same in the past before some members tried to derail this thread wit hthe usual bashing and posting funny pictures.

FWIW i had removed the last part of my post shortly after posting it (as i did know how you would react to that...) so i do not know how long you kept that to quote it.

Why would I insult (odd choice of words there) a synth I don't even know? If anything I criticized Electra because of its very limited FX implementation. How was I to know how many effects it has when there is not even a demo version?

Well, knowing you and all your post editing (I totally dislike that behavior), I click on reply right away and sometimes write my reply a little later on as soon as I have time (currently I am busy listening to music :hihi: ). So think twice about what you write before you reply to me

Post

You did it again, changed and added to your post. You should really stop doing that, it totally disrupts the dialog.

Anyway, the only thing about Tone2 I attack is their arrogant marketing gibberish. Other than that I don't attack them (other than specifically mentioning what I don't like about their synths, which is called criticism rather than attack), nor you. Actually, most people here are pretty patient with you

Post

This thread goes in circles, just bring on the synth, otherwise it will be talked to death before even arriving, and the authority will leave, come back, leave, come back, leave, come back...

Post

I guess Tone2's point of marketing IS that it should be talked to death. :P Might have been a bit too early to tease, when they bring it out only in May actually...

Well, keeping up this sort of thread-circling until May seems difficult, but maybe it helps - I find it rather painful to read.

Even if it was an 'insult' (a synth has no feelings and cannot be insulted). every one is free to like or dislike various features... you take this stuff way too personally

If we were in Star Trek, this would generate a whole episode ;-P

Mommy! They insulted my synth.

Here is a little teaser for the Icarus-only album I'm recording so you can hear some of the patches I've designed for it.

PLEASE NOTE:
1 - both the sounds and music are in the Ambient/Berlin School genres, so obviously those of you who are not interested in these kinds of music should wait for proper demos in other genres to be posted before judging whether Icarus is for you or not

2 - the tracks I've taken these bits from were recorded with the first sounds I created with Icarus (yes, it's that intuitive), and therefore they only use a very small part of its potentialities

3 - no external fx of any kind were used during the mix phase, only my usual tools during mastering, so what you hear is what you get

4 - even now after months of playing with it, I definitely feel I've barely scratched the surface of this instrument, so much more is possible

5 - as I finish the other tracks for the album, I'll post more bits for those of you who are interested in these kinds of sounds

Thanks :)
