finally it's there. My first impressions from the trialversion:
- new look: very sexy!
- new brouser functions - very helpful and creativ!
- new audio editing possibilities: very practical!
- MIDI - unfortunately insufficient: No List Events View. Program changes continues to be displayed as a line. Why not like system exclusive as points? I have the impression the target user of Tracktion are no keyboard player with extensive MIDI equipment.
My overall impression: still the same tracktion with some nice cool and helpfull improvements. Very pleasant for audiorecording and editing. For comfortable MIDI-editing still need for other daws.

- I find it somewhat harder to read, even on a 20" monitor. I'll have to try it using the laptop, where I normally use it.
Even using different fonts
- MIDI tracks when in small mode used to show dots where notes are. Now, in "standard" small mode, you can't tell where there are MIDI notes in tracks.
+ Installs easily and seemed to import settings much more "naturally" than prior versions
+ browser seems to make more sense than before

I'm currently scratching my head which version/ bundle is the proper one for me, it's all a bit confusing. o.O I own the synth pack and Master Mix, do I need to upgrade those too? Or do I just upgrade to T7?

When a MIDI clip is reduced in size so the editor closes you should still see MIDI notes in white, similarly to T6. Or are you referring to something different?

I've upgraded from T5 to T7 and at least on my screen the midi note are presenting as they have always done ie: still visible when track is at default small height.
I would like to see the drum notes present as diamonds when editing the midi drum track, whether that's possible.
So far in the short time I've been playing with it, I'm liking what I see.

Downloaded the T7 demo.
Default color scheme makes app almost unreadable.
Cannot find the Color Scheme Editor under Settings.

Love the new look
Love the moveable browser - but would like to be able to split it so I have files on the left and plugins on the right (it just makes sense ergonomically to have plugins closest to where I drag them into, and wave files closer to the track itself)
LFO is useful but very basic - needs custom waveforms
Hate the fact that no work has been done (after over 2 years of bringing this up) to improve the poor preset support for AU and VST3 plugins
Midi is still pretty basic - usable for me tbh but I can see how midi power users would not find it much use
Why has T6 vanished from user accounts?

Hmmm... What do I have to do to paste an image here?
If I have a MIDI clip that has MIDI events in it, and gradually reduce the height of the track, when it gets to approximately twice the height of the "minimal default" track size, then all MIDI notes as well as the horizontal octaves all disappear for that track.
Update - must be something with my older desktop (2 Gig memory and XP) - for some reason it doesn't seem to show waveforms either (although they play and can be normalized, etc...). My Win 8.1 laptop seems to work normally.
Also, visually, there doesn't seem to be any legibility issues between T5 and T7 on a 15" laptop screen.
