I can't even get to register Tracktion 6 :help:

Try to doing that, I'm told again and again over the past weeks that "couldn't connect to tracktion.com webserver. Your internet connection seems to be OK, but www.tracktion.com didn't respond."

Is there no offline option? I sent Tracktion a support request now, buy are already maybe swamped...?

For me the new Tracktion Webpage is faaaaaaare to much FX and to less useable.
The new Tracktion 7 does not load my lovely plugins like Electra2 and some other I love to use. T6 does. Strange thing.

Why can´t they just create a guy like lets say Podium. Who needs so much colours in its DAW.
I stay with my second DAW which is Renoise.
Has all the fx you need to by extra for Tracktion, is rock solid stable and finds all my plugins.
Just the MIDI handling is a shit. Can´t just import a Midifile for drums...well:)

So apart from the obvious workflow differences, what are other pros and cons of Tracktion 7 versus the current version of Reaper? How good is Tracktion's audio engine on 64bit machines?

Take Reaper.
I had both.
Just found a thread someone is selling it for 30,- Euro.
Would rather spend the money there then in the Tracktion upgrade to 7.

There is an offline option, go into your account and the downloadable product area, and you will see under 'My Downloads' - 'Linux users or machines with no Internet connection'. Click there

We will see. I bougth it on jan. 23 ...

BTW, are you sure you bought it during NAMM (jan. 21-24) ?
Deleted my comment.

TSC sorted me out nicely. Thank you to them

(I still hate the website though :help: )

OK I put in a support request for this, and for the fact that T6 was missing from my account. They have now put it back, and are going to release a 64bit demo :)

Good on you TSC.

Thanks for the info, that worked.

Hope I am then eligible for the free Tracktion 7 upgrade, as I didn't authorize a computer with Tracktion 6 before now?

Good, tbh I think it's a good idea to generate and backup an offline key even if you are online, just in case.

Does it matter when you bought it?

As far as I understand the Newsletter from Tracktion, what matters is when T6 was registered:

A free T7 license and download link will be added to the accounts of anyone who has registered a T6 license since January 21, 2016 (the opening of Winter NAMM 2016). Please allow 24 hours for these links to post to the accounts.

It would matter since it was registered immediately.

Regardless, TSC has taken my situation in to account and provided a satisfactory solution.

That's great! :tu:

However, T7 doesn't like some of my Arturia plugins... :(

I got feedback from support now, with a small change in language

we do have a grace period for free T7 upgrades - if you purchased T6 after Jan 21st, you will receive a free update

So I purchased T6 Jan 17, so there goes my luck :D

Anyhow, live and let live, T6 I bought for a bit of a laugh to check out, T7 will never be my main DAW if I get the free update or not. Better that the free updates go to those who will use T7 more than I would.

Fixed that for you.

I only bought it for the Melodyne licence (which I haven't been able to use due to a long-running bug with Melodyne and Live on OS X) so I'm not overly concerned about whether I get T7 or not.

That still doesn't hide the fact that it's a dick move considering many people probably upgraded in the first couple of days of the promo and moving the grace period to the start of NAMM freezes them out.

It may just need pointing out to TSC.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.
