how do i get that to show thank you for any help

Right click on the icon you normally drag to add a plugin. It opens the screen for me in Linux, although there don't seem to be any thumbnails for me - probably just a Linux thing.

In the meantime, if you go to the settings tab - then plugins - you will see the option to scan for plugin thumbnails

This might take a while if you have a lot of plugs - the system launches the plugin UI and takes a snapshot automatically - good moment to make a cup of tea. Bit like the 'get album artwork' feature in iTunes

You can manually take a snapshot of plugs using the camera icon on the new plugin title bar if you prefer

Further to this, when you open plugin windows they will be automatically captured if they don't yet have a thumbnail so your image library should be automatically populated over time with normal use.

@eric71 This feature isn't currently available on Linux.

How do you get rid of an image?

Is there a specific reason you want to get rid of an image?
You can use the new camera button in plugin windows to take a new snapshot if you don't like the default UI one.

To delete an image you can find it in the Tracktion settings folder under "Plugin Images". However, an image will automatically be created when you next open the plugin's window.

BTW, trivial, but there's a typo in the dialogue:

"Scanning for plugin thmbnails"

Thanks! Will get that sorted asap.

Hmmm, seems to be creating 'blank' black thumbnails for some Izotope plugins like Iris2, RX5 and Ozone 7 plugins. Other plugins of theirs like Alloy, Nectar2 etc are okay though. Win7 x64, anyone else confirm that?

Also; for me it would be nice in the visual plugin dialogue to be able to disable/enable plugins by category ie internal plugins/rack presets/VST2 and effect/instrument, and have that remembered.

Aside ; am I the only one who was expecting the thumbnails to also show up inside the 'plugin' icon on the track instead of just the name.

Is this function taking up a lot of system resources?

If so, then I would like to be able to disable it ... don't need it.

No, it doesn't take up any resources whilst the viewer is closed and the disk space required to store the images is extremely small, typically between 50KB - 200KB per image.
