Rack,
I completely agree.

Any suggestions I made were in the interest of form following function (and hopefully reducing work).

I also recognize the significance of porting stepchild to C++. Jules really is a pretty clever guy for getting Tracktion to work as well as it does on all kinds of systems and across two very different platforms. I gather C++ made it possible. That's thinking ahead and I wish more developers worked that way.

While we're on the subject, if you guys are talking about adding features, why not incorporate some things to make drum programming easier? I'm thinking of mute groups. Perhaps stepchild already does this? I've only used it for about 5 minutes on my brother's pc.

Anyone else have a dev cycle like mine?

You make rapid progress for a while. Then you stare at screen, shouting "EH!?!?" for a (seems like long) while. Eventually solve problem with cries of "Oh for f**ks sake!!" (aimed either at own stupidity or API/Languages wierdnesses). Repeat.

And another thing. As soon as I ask for help, the solution immediatly manifests itself! Like before I get a reply. Odd. Possibly because wording the problem for someone else clears it up in your own head?

Hmm. At it since 6:30am GMT. Need a break.

It's important as an educational exercise for myself. I wanted to learn C++ and VST. I don't think it carries any overall importance. I mean I've had so many delays (being a drunken balloon mostly) I'm sure the Mac Rackers have found alternatives by now.
