We've just released a new plugin some minutes ago: PanShaper

It offers powerful, fast modulation editing, width controls, multiband options, a streamlined interface, and ease of use: PanShaper takes stereo control to a new level.

For a more lively sound, for pinpoint panning control, and for a more defined and wider stereo image.

We hope you like it and let us know what you think! Also, make sure to watch the video, it's a great coverage of PanShaper's features and of usecases for modulation and stereo narrowing/widening.

PanShaper is €34 / $39. For all details, and for a fully functional demo version, see: http://www.cableguys.com/pan-shaper.html

Plus we have some audio examples for you. In all examples, you'll first hear one dry pass without PanShaper, followed by one or two passes with PanShaper's modulation and/or width controls applied. Make sure you have a good listening position to best hear the effect on the stereo image!

The width knob controls the level of the side signal (think M/S). It's especially interesting as you can limit it to certain frequencies, and for example leave the bass unchanged.

Looks great Jakob. Haven't had a chance to check it yet, hopefully this weekend! :tu:

Very cool, bought it. Loads of possibilities with this. Great for drum loops where you want to move the HH for example and leave the kick unchanged. Great product from Cableguys yet again . Well done !!!! :D

Looks good to me, too - except for one thing. I find it a bit difficult adjusting to the vertical waveform. The horizontal waveform as in your other plug-ins seems more comfortable to me.

Was there a particular reason for orienting it that way?

For panning we thought it's a bit more practical for the orientation, because there's no question where left and right is. But yes, it's kind of a change if you're used to the other display.

Maybe I missed it, but are there any options for different pan laws?

Yes! There's a menu for these in the Master section (under the big Mix knob):

Stereo Balance
- Balance 3dB (aka Constand Power)
- Balance 4.5dB
- Balance 6dB (aka Linear)
- Balance 0dB

Stereo Combined
- Combined

For most use cases, we recommend to use one of the "Stereo Balance" modes. These work like the pan knobs in most DAWs and mixers. You can define how much a side's level is increased when panning to it, which is useful for compensating the loss of energy of the stereo signal.

"Combined" will add the signal of the opposite side to the side that you're panning to. This is for example useful if a sound is playing on one side only and you want to modulate its movement to the other side.

Note that with the "Combined" mode, phase differences of the left and right stereo channel can result in an attenuation or increase of frequencies (sometimes audible in receiving a "thin" sound), so please use it with care.

Great stuff! I must say to my shame that until now i never tryed a Cableguys tool....
First, the UI are great and looks modern and usable, also on a notebook.
I really love the wave orientation because it makes sense for panning.....but the bad thing is now i feel the need to buy the Cableguys bundle :o

Edit: Could i load Midi Shaper as Midi FX plug-in in Logic? Would be insta buy...
