Great, thank you very much.steff3 wrote:>> Is it possible to add a plugin to a track without dragging & dropping?
in the output section - right mouse click -> context menu -> add effect or so ...
I've updated the OP with that, and various other answers given, plus what I've discovered on my own so far.

Hi , Robert Randolph there are alot of YouTube videos done by Bill Edstrom the guy that writes the newer T6 and T7 instructions guides . There are also alot of T3 T4 videos on there from TSC as well as the Tracktion4 PDF and quick start PDF out there on the web . Are you brand new to DAWs , or what recording software are you coming from ? Hope you get the hang of things soon.Robert Randolph wrote:Great, thank you very much.steff3 wrote:>> Is it possible to add a plugin to a track without dragging & dropping?

If you right click in the track input area, you can choose to assign all inputs to consecutive tracks.Robert Randolph wrote:
Then if I'm done with those tracks and want to record another large set of tracks... Lots more clicking.![]()
Also an option to arm/disarm all inputs.

Those still require as much work when switching from one multi-track setup to another.bk wrote:If you right click in the track input area, you can choose to assign all inputs to consecutive tracks.Robert Randolph wrote:

Assign all inputs to consecutive tracks means I end up with 32 input assignments cluttering up my project. It also makes Arm/Disarm all inputs totally useless.
Arm/disarm all inputs means I have to constantly disable input assignments that aren't 'active'. I can't leave a drum mic setup assigned, but not armed otherwise that function would activate it. So rather than having to manually record arm each track, it's switched to manually having to assign/unassign each input manually.
It would be possible to fix this with macros if there was a function to record arm a track array, or a single track. There doesn't appear to be (despite a request being made a year ago for it).

I have two questions:
1) Is there any reason why adding loops? it messes with my plugin browser.
2) Is audio file same as loop? Will it be synced as a loop? Then i wouldnt add loop directory that messes with my plugins :]
3]I am almost sure preview of my loop wa ssynced but it is not anymore.
I ve got sync checked in options, so i dont know what i do wrong
They are not synced even if i drag them into audio lane

I mistyped. It should be "Panel Animation". I fixed the OP.Kang wrote:Just curious, what is panel automation?
The panels on the right, left and bottom. When you close them, they slide. It would be nice if it was an instant change.

Answered some questions and added new ones.
I also organized the list so unanswered appear at the top, partial in the middle and answered at the bottom.
OP has been updated quite a bit. Thank you for the help so far.

UNANSWERED - Is it possible to emulate VCA faders in Tracktion 7?
Isn't that essentially the function of a folder track? Audio does not run through folder tracks, so you can't put effects on them, but you can use the volume fader to proportionately affect the volume of the tracks within the folder.

That doesn't allow you to scale automation of the contained tracks, or coalesce the automation with it though.gesslr wrote:UNANSWERED - Is it possible to emulate VCA faders in Tracktion 7?

It may be a partial solution though. I will look in to it and update the answer if so.

I've only used it for volume where it does appear to scale the volume of all track under control relative to each other. I have not tried to scale other automation lanes of a group... is that what you mean?Robert Randolph wrote:That doesn't allow you to scale automation of the contained tracks, or coalesce the automation with it though.gesslr wrote:UNANSWERED - Is it possible to emulate VCA faders in Tracktion 7?

It appears to behave like a VCA mostly. It's actually rather confusing though, because sends work like VCAs with folder tracks.... but it doesn't animate the VCA controlled tracks.gesslr wrote:I've only used it for volume where it does appear to scale the volume of all track under control relative to each other. So with folder tracks you do get VCA automation ability, proper send behaviour for VCAs.
You can't coalesce automation, VCA faders are not animated, Folder tracks can't share tracks like VCAs can.
edit 1: I've confirmed that Folder Tracks are scaling child volume filters by simply disabling a child's volume&pan filter. So this is VCA like behaviour, that is good!
edit 2: Updated the OP with information. Marked as answered.
