Sustain control in MTransient like in Transient Designer

I'm a happy new customer & just think about what would be the easiest to realize wishes I have :-)

When I use Transient editing tools I even like the Sustain-Control more than the transient control... It's so nice to shorten the sustain of a drumsample to make it sound more snappy.

I did realise a quite nice sustain control within the soniccore scope SDK and in Flowstone (just use some rms power detector & envelope follower substracting with different release times) & would be happy with it but it should be done in some minutes for a Pro & I like Melda effects for their clean audio quality with oversampling & co.

:-) Just found it in the MIXXX. I see, there's a lot to discover!

... oh, this will be my learning project with MXXX. No, the sustain part of the Transient sounds not so usefull to my ears... at least it is something different than in Transient Designer. But maybe it is not meant for that purpose I assumed.
If I understand that new surrounding in MXXX it looks like a modular environment with endless possibilities, so I should be able to build a Transient Designer with the basic modules like Envelopefollower, RMS, mathmodules ...
A transientdesigner for Sustain/Release control is a relatively simple construction, so I will try to build a 'real' one in MXXX.

I added a preset in the online exchange. You'll see there is still much to learn for me, but the basic principle of reducing or strengthen sustain works very well...

hm, how can I have milliseconds not percent displayes with the modulators?

Post

Do you mean multiparameters? If so you can change the display value in the top left of the multiparameter window.
If you do mean modulator, I'm afraid I don't follow, could you be more specific?

Yes, I meant the multiparameter. In the left corner I can just set "percent", "By first parameter", "By bankname"...

Post

Use first parameter and make sure the first parameter is the one that uses the value you want.

Added a clearer GUI-arrangement with settings that make 'allways' sense in the online exchange.

It works really nice on drums!

have fun

Well, what is the preset called?

Just introducing myself... I am sonic-core and Mxxx user and I have been uploading some presets. I'd like to tryout your transient tools in Mxxx. What is it called in the preset exchange. I've posted about a dozen or so mostly moving space types of presets tagged with JSH at the beginning of the name. Nice to meet your acquaintance. - Scotty
