In general, no..
however in certain cases it is allowed, as in a company rep could have an account to represent his company;
another different account for him personally. It's been years since ben expained this, and is rarely used.

As for the person who triggered your interest in this, I banned that account, yet he has cleverly hid behind a proxy
as his other accounts don't show.

Well, this is very good news. A person with multiple accounts has probably something to hide.

PS - Makes perfect sense for a company rep etc.

Thanks for the answer. I was aware of the company/personal account situation and that's quite a valid scenario. No problems there.

As for our multi id chum, I'm not surprised to learn he was hiding behind a proxy one little bit. He seemed dodgy as.
On checking the user out, I found that account was predominantly (almost exclusively) used in the Bitwig forum, so a new heavy user out of the blue won't be much of surprise.

Learning they used one account solely for the market place, deliberately to sell unhindered by possible bad rep was a bit of a red flag. Glad 1/3 is gone at least.

Hi thanks admin for the block!

This is my last account. However before you block me.

I have read the agreement and rules of this site before asign into this site.
Ive found nothing that states this that you state here. Therefor i would like you to show me where at kvr the rules.

I use vpn for personal reasons. Sometimes sit on my phone and sometimes at work therefor i use vpn.

I used this one mainly for selling and i created this one first because i had my takaii account namned to my real name at first. As i found no other way of changing my personal name as username to something other i created this account.

I still wanted my other account changed so i mailed ben at kvr to help me change to takaii from my old username. Thus i ended up with two accounts.

Since ive used this account for selling stuff i still use it for it. But i am also active in bitwig forum or have been with this

The reason ive not told outcider further or play i had 3 accouts was just to get him back off. This my last and only.

Outcider have been very personal against me and trying to find out stuff about me like asking about my other accounts etc. He himself dont leave his personal name open for everybody to see and conplain about me using two accounts which yet have to be added. If i behaved badly or wrongly i will gladly accept a ban.

But as there is no statement in rule section i should not have gotten banned. I have written a mail to you as well with my real firstname and surname from hotmail.

Outcide have gotten very attach with me as a persoan when the subject was about allowing sale of imageline products when they are not making transfers of licenses.

I am sorry that i have usen more accounts than one but outcider have nothing more than being personal against me. Since there doesnt state in rules that i cant have more accounts than one i wish to keep this one. You dont have to avtivate takaii but i feel pretty tricked since there does not say anything about this rule in acceptence in rules when creating an account.

I have screencapture of the current rules. Thanks

Robmobious and outcider seem very friendly with eachother so am not supriced to see both here

Question for the IT folk, how can one tell if somebody is using a proxy server or VPN?

I too use a VPN to trick my device into thinking I'm home in the UK whilst working abroad.

Sky/BBC have caught onto this in the past and I did wonder how they knew.

The simplest method is a list of known proxies - if the incoming IP address appears on one of those, bingo, it's a proxy access. There are more subtle tricks that use interactions with the browser but, in most cases, the blacklist method is simple and effective.

Great info.

So a good proxy provider should regularly renew these IP's then. Essentially causing a continual game of cat and mouse.

There are providers who make money from providing the lists – they are pretty good at keeping up in much the same way that the spam blacklists are. Also, if IP cycling becomes an issue, then you're going to find sites like Hulu using other techniques more heavily (if they aren't already).

It's worth bearing in mind that a site can simply ask the browser where you are - if you allow it to provide your location, the browser will simply tell it. This is what happens when Safari pops up questions asking whether you want to reveal your location. Obviously, you can tell it "no" but there comes a point where Hulu or whoever may simply say "if you don't let the browser tell us, no soup for you."

Wouldnt the next logical step be then for the browser to be integrated into the VPN.

The proxy browser would then provide a false location.

That's pretty much what TOR is.
