Some MXXXs build can get quite complex. And, in 3 months time, you will not remember what they are for or how they work.

It would be valuable to be able to write some notes describing what the build does (using a window similar to the Multiparameter "specify multiparameter information" window) and access it from an [Info] button above the module grid.

As in this mock-up:

We can already add explanatory notes to each of the Multiparameters but this would cover anything and everything, all in one place.

Also, consider adding MNotepad to MXXX (but do the above anyway).

How is this any different from writing the notes in the preset?
Also if I'm correct, we can't add text for multiparameters only groups. I requested this a while ago, but it was declined.

+1 to using the preset comment field for this (you could make that an option in the poll)

@ jmg8,
(a) that info is only visible when the Preset window is open; this info is available when you are editing the preset build
(b) I do not understand - info can be typed in for each Multiparameter (when editing it) and that info is displayed when you click the [?] on the appropriate panel in Easy mode.

@ ZentralmassivSound
I cannot see a way to modify the poll, sorry.

Maybe your right and it has changed. But it used to be that only info for the group the multiparameter was in could be edited. How do I input info for a single multiparameter? I'm not near a computer sorry.

Your suggestion for text would only be visible after clicking on the info button right? That's the same as clicking on the preset button. In fact preset info text would be more flexible as you could individually add text for FX on their own, the module that contains them and the whole active preset.

+1 to this, I almost made a post about this exact issue. I like the elegant use of the area in the top for this.

My idea was to make a note module, that way you can make multiple and place them next to nodes to explain what's going on.

If there is just one global one (as in the original suggestion), perhaps this does just show the preset info. But it being visible on the matrix makes it considerably more useful. Just a thought.

Post

Well, sorry folks, but not like that. I can easily add MNotepad though...
For the record, it's imho not elegant at all, more like confusing. But I guess it's a matter of perspective :D.

Adding MNotepad is good enough for me. My MXXX presets are getting crazy now and it's hard to keep track of why things are set up the way they are. Anything that helps retain information is a good thing :)

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

MNotepad would work for me.

As said, a preset info is already there.

Ok, MNotepad it is. When you think about it it's better anyway, because it will follow the system of submodulars for example.
