Just another typical marketing ploy. Get people to talk about their product by creating yet another Studio One thread...

Posting issues on the presonus thread isn't trolling, posting about presonus marketing on a thread someone kindly posted to let people know there were some free videos is.bungle wrote:Trolls ?
You mean the paying Studio One customers who are getting annoyed that nonsense hype campaigns are more important than having a working product (Go read the mess that is the Presonus forum to see how many trolls there are having issues)
I am a studio one 3 owner and active on the Presonus forum, I don't see many posts there about people having issues (no more than on the cubase forum), if you don't like the free update, don't use it, if S13 isn't working for you sell it (as I did with cubase) and use something else. Why pop up on a post where someone has just posted a link to free videos of hand new features and slag off presonus marketing? (The videos are not even made by presonus) It's totally unrelated to the thread (feel free to talk about the videos!) and is thus (by definition) trolling.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Hey, why let a small detail like facts get in the way of an off-topic troll post trimph1trimph1 wrote:Just another typical marketing ploy. Get people to talk about their product by creating yet another Studio One thread...
The Thread was neither created by Presonus nor Studio One Expert.
The OP is not AFAIK connected with Presonus or Studio Expert.
Look at his profile both here and on the Presonus forum.
He (I'm assuming that Garry is male) appears to be an active musician / producer who happens to be an S1 user and a regular poster on the Presonus forums.
But such is the way of the KVR Hosts forum, that anyone who acts in a helpful way to other users will probably be rounded on by the resident lynch mob and labelled a 'troll', 'shill' or similar.
Why won't you delete this account as I have requested Ben ?

Aaaaaah the Studio One moniker "But Cubase has bugs" or better yet "Go use something else"SLiC wrote:I am a studio one 3 owner and active on the Presonus forum, I don't see many posts there about people having issues (no more than on the cubase forum), if you don't like the free update, don't use it, if S13 isn't working for you sell it (as I did with cubase) and use something else. Get over yourself, some people who use Studio One are not impressed by this update, done, they aren't going to stop using Studio One, they didn't all come from Cubase, and if you can't see the issues on the Presonus forums, bully for you.

Studio One Expert definitely has links to Presonus and is active in the marketing of their products.
1. They are given access to S1 betas to do the videos prior to launch.
2. They are beta testers themselves.
3. They are regularly mentioned on Presonus webcasts and linked to.
4. Russ even hosted one of the official sections of the v3 release webcasts.
There is no conspiracy or duping here its simply the way that Studio One Expert operates, and it would be totally naive to believe that it doesn't. It makes good business sense to operate this way.
What the OP intentions were IDK, he/she could have easily put this info in one of the other multiple threads, maybe he/she should be given the benefit of the doubt.
What I do think is obvious here is the numerous Studio One threads where any kind of criticism is immediately contradicted, a lot of the time by ex or current official Studio One moderators and beta testers, who by definition have link to the company. Those people, in the interest of transparency, should identify themselves as such.
All software has issues, but being told there isn't, and all is fine by somebody with direct links to the company is not an unbiased opinion.YMMV

Correct. I posted simply because I thought it might be useful to people who have upgraded or people thinking of buying or moving over to S1.RockinMillie wrote:The OP is not AFAIK connected with Presonus or Studio Expert.
I am an active (male) member of the Presonus forums trying to help people while learning more about my DAW of choice. I find most of the other regular forum members to be either helpful or neutral.

1. The OP is not answerable to you as to how or where he should post. You are not a moderator here.woodsdenis wrote: What the OP intentions were IDK, he/she could have easily put this info in one of the other multiple threads, maybe he/she should be given the benefit of the doubt.

2. There are always many conflicting viewpoints regarding issues with all DAWs (all software for that matter).
Pick any thread for any DAW and contradictions are plenty - Sonar, Reason, Cubase, Reaper all have advocates and detractors. It is not limited to S1.
3. Finally in the interest of 'transparency', should you not identify yourself as carrying on your petty dispute with Presonus that started with you flouncing off their forum last year in a huff, because it wasn't moderated in the way that you thought it should be
For the record and for the sake of transparency, I am connected neither with Presonus nor Studio One Expert in any capacity.
Like all software, yes Studio One has issues and bugs. Like all DAWs, there are some people who it works well for (some of them even run pro studios) and some people who it doesn't.
It certainly appears to be better suited to PCs rather than Macs at the present time.

1.Nowhere in my post did I suggest the OP was answerable to me , quite the opposite. How you gleaned that from my post is beyond me. I actually said to give him/her the benefit of the doubt. Before you go ranting maybe take a second to actually read whats posted.
2. Agree.
3. I don't have nor ever did have a petty dispute with Presonus, and as I no longer use Studio One, I have no need to post on the official forum and have not done so in months, so no flouncing
4. I am not affiliated with any brand or product, but I do think that those who are, should say so when posting about it, why is that so objectionable to you ?

But, yeah, it does happen a lot on this subforum. A lot of cynics abound here.

No drama, I'm perfectly chilled thank you "dude".woodsdenis wrote:Dude take a chill pill ffs.

It was your somewhat patronising comments regarding how and where the OP should have posted and quote: "maybe he/she should be given the benefit of the doubt" (how very gracious of you), that gave the impression.
You seem to like to 'be in charge' of forums don't you ?
It does seem you have an ongoing agenda regarding Presonus, their software and their forum. From hijacking threads like this, taking them off-topic to snide comments directed at one nameless S1 user and forum poster in particular whenever they post here.I don't have nor ever did have a petty dispute with Presonus, and as I no longer use Studio One, I have no need to post on the official forum and have not done so in months, so no flouncingjust normal behaviour. Take your OTT aggression out on some who cares, its your kind of attitude that has made that forum the mess it is. If I don't like the way that forum is moderated of course by your rules I shouldn't say anything ? I haven't responded to anything you have said in this thread so why take the OTT aggressive tone ?
I have no problem at all with posters declaring their interests or connections with any software company.I am not affiliated with any brand or product, but I do think that those who are, should say so when posting about it, why is that so objectionable to you ?
I do have a problem with self-appointed forum lynch-mobs using paranoia, unfounded speculation and innuendo to make baseless accusations, which appeared to be the case in this thread.
Let's deal with facts.
Forgive me for missing your incisive, acerbic and brilliant satire. I must have missed it amongst your other, erm, satirical comments about marketing by Presonustrimph1 wrote:You never heard of satire before? I was being satirical.

You obviously have a real problem understanding the english language and have a personal beef against me personally because of some perceived slight against this mysterious S1 user, this unknown person is unable to defend them self and needs the likes of you to do so, how sad is thatRockinMillie wrote:No drama, I'm perfectly chilled thank you "dude".woodsdenis wrote:Dude take a chill pill ffs.
