I'd like to hear a comparison between version 1 and 2 at the same volume level. Version 2 has a much higher gain, but I couldn't hear much difference in the timbre. My ears are probably weaker than most, I guess. Still I'd like to hear them side by side with version 1's volume level increased.

Are sales for Element 2 not going as expected for Waves?

Not only is Metafilter price reduced to $50 today, but those buying it will get Element 2 for free as well :o

Metafilter is neat! Great value, this sale!

Yeah, the GAS is strong in this one :scared: :D

That's just plain insane!

Is Element 2 enough of an improvement over Element 1 to warrant either the upgrade price (my WUP ran out) or jumping on this sale?

{aside} I'd never even listened to any demo's of Element 1, but am quite impressed with Element 2, in the video on the preceding page. It has a nice 'presence', and sounds quite lush to my ears... bought it. 8)

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Indeed, that offer is quite tempting.
I'm about to demo both products at home later this evening before pulling the trigger.
But still, I wonder if someone of KVR community can answer if those plugins will provide something new and useful for Logic X user?

I'm talking about Autofilter and Retro Synth (and\or ES2) vs Metafilter and Element 2.0 respectively.

I also own Z3ta+ 2 and Synthmaster 2.8 but their GUI are too far from ideal.
Would like to have a nice looking and sounding VA. Diva and Hive are very good in both terms (yes, they are very different otherwise) but if can have comparable quality and clean UI for a third of a price I'd go for it.
and Metafilter as a bonus.

Absolutely. I have Logic, but the oscillators in Element have alot of presence, more than any other synth I've heard. Right off the bat they are thick and lush, no tricks needed.

Νo detuning or extra oscillators, or saturation tricks needed. Though you can always do that and make an even bolder sound.

It's fast and intuitive to edit, may lack some of the extra frills of other synths. But for what it lacks it makes up for with quality and ease of use.

MetaFilter uses the same engine so you get a nice analogue tonality out of it. It has a step sequencer which you can use to control the modulation or even have it behave like a bit of a slicer. You could even use it like a funky delay unit.

So yes these plugins do present better tonal qualities and better sound shaping options.

The GAS is strong with this offer...but I took a deep breath and demo'd, and decided Element2 didn't offer me anything new.

Element didn't offer me anything new either but Metafilter did, so I could not resist it :P And at the same times I lost my virginity and became an owner of my first waves plugins :D

For $49 this is a great promotion if these are items that you can use. Probably doesn't need to be said... but just in case:

make absolutely sure to register your MetaFilter today (June 22)

otherwise you will miss out on the free Element portion.

I remember my first time, had got musicians/silver bundle and felt on top of the world ready to mix anything. Now I own so much through all these sales!

Does Metafilter work well as a complement to FabFilter Volcano, Etch or some of Melda's products? Or would I basically be covered in the "good filter plugin" category if I have one or more of those three?
