Some more info - WHAT exactly are you trying to do? Are you using it to mix a series of microphones and instruments and expecting to record that; is it just microphones and a karaoke feed, or all vocals (i.e. a debate).

What is the problem? Remember this mixer is 2-channels only; so what you'll be recording is the stereo main mix, less any effects (you can't easily record the FX, unless Mackie changed this since the ProFX12).

I presume you're using the USB to computer? Remember digital recording doesn't have headroom like tape, so anything that you see under Tracktion exceeding the "0" on the meters you see (bottom of screen when the input on the track is selected) will be distorted. Red and continuous Yellow are NOT good. However, try to keep the mix level at -12 to -6 "on average".

As a test prior to the event, try recording an Ipod or stereo connected to the Mackie line level inputs. Remember you have gain settings in a LOT of places:
Mackie:
- gain setting on some inputs
- mixer channel levels
- master output (although this will only affect the sound system and should have minimal impact on recording).

PC
- USB input device Input gain level (this one's harder to find)

Tracktion
- Input gain control
- track output level control

If it's feedback/echo/unintentional reverb are other things to be aware of.
