T7 v7.0.26 Beta Available Now

Hi everyone the first beta build of T7 is now available. Lots of bug fixes and small improvements. Feedback welcome!

- Fix for slim transport bar master filters not updating correctly
- Ensured changing takes isn't undone when changing clip gain immediately afterwards
- Fixed a crash selecting all plugins of Pitch Shifter type
- Ensured plugin windows don't appear on previously disconnected displays
- Fixed slow plugin scan on OS X El Capitan
- Added keyboard shortcuts for group and ungroup clips

- Fix for custom plugin menu not displaying external plugins
- Added multi-browser clip creation options by holding shift when placing items
- Added a new option to stop the cursor following the arrange view. This now is off by default but can be turned back on via the Options -> Scroll behaviour menu
- Ensured toggled and random step volume clip effects are applied to the whole source length
- Fixed a problem with step volume effects reverting to default sequences when re-loaded
- Improved positioning of property buttons for MIDI clips with takes
- Fixed controller and automation mapping window colours

works. observation: grouping of single clips possible (shouldn't be). But nested grouping of clips not possible.

* - Fixed auto hide mixer when side panel is on left or top:
works now. still, problem of dragging + plugin sign on masterbus not possible as the filter panel popup and blocks the control panel

It doesn't do this for me. I actually wish there WAS a way to make the small property panel stay open!

After one hour of testing on OSX EL Capitan, I noticed :

An improvment of some plugin UI redraw : microtonic is snappier even if not perfect
Some plugins are still buggy :
tal bassline, a knob with a automated parameter assigning to a LFO does not move
Spire, fatal crash when recalling a preset from properties panel
FM8, arpegiator losts sync after a few loops
Sometimes hanging notes even when sequencer stopped, need to change the plugin preset to stop the sound

More generally plugins UI are jerky, moving a knob in play mode makes the playhead jerky.

Perhaps is it a OSX graphic issue as encountered with other softs ?
Is it the same on the windows dark side ?

FYI:

You can capture plugin thumbnails of Melda Productions plugins by first disabling
GPU acceleration in the plugin's settings. Probably other accelerated plugins as well.

Maybe a clue to improving the process...

*Possibly disable the plugin's high DPI support as well, seems I had that checked off too.

I'm also (in OSX Yosemite) seeing the same sort of jerky plugin movement in anything that moves while the playhead is going. It even makes adjusting nobs difficult as the movement will pause, then suddenly catch up a half a second later or so. Only happens when in play mode, and the same plugins work fine in my other daws.

Yes, I forgot to mention the plugins works fine with other DAW on the same mac.

Thanks, we're trying to look into this but can't seem to replicate it on any of our test machines. The symptoms would indicate that it is getting stuck in a driver (audio or video) somewhere so may be something unique to these machines?

Could you try disconnecting any external hardware and using the Windows Audio type audio device please. Does that make any difference?

I have the same problem with the release on Windows 8.1 (no external hardware) just crashes when clicking the lfo-icon

Ok I try without asio soundcard and with disabling all my midi drivers.
Try with 64 bits and 32 bits tracktion version
No success...

The issue comes when you assign a lfo to a plugin parameter.
If you create a lfo without assignement, no problems, you can display the lfo parameters zone.
If you try to learn a plugin parameter, tracktion crash.

here the windows log error (if it ould help). but sorry in french.

I found that 0xC000041d = STATUS_FATAL_USER_CALLBACK_EXCEPTION
What happens appears to be that the Application exits with abnormal code 0xc000041d due to early thread created by app.

Yea I tried everything I still get the same issue to. I even rolled my Windows back a whole month to see if that was the issue. I don't know but the LFo won't work for me but I have noticed that the same features on the LFO are on the automation option tab so I got a way to use it but not as the LFO pugin

I have tried T7 v7.0.26 with Reason Essential 8 rewired.
It works well, but 2 little things to improve :
- bad lisibility of the name of the rewired application (written in blank) on the rewire device plugin because of the "rewire" label below that is also written in blank.
- the automatic edit preview rendering is not working, perhaps because you have to close the rewired application before quiting the edit ?

The LFO works well too...
