I mistakenly left the selection at "Root" when exporting a preset. There were no error or warning messages.

Where has my preset been saved?

No idea. I don't think Root is an actual place.

When I attempted to export to Root, I got an error. http://i.imgur.com/Jl7e6qg.png

Good question. As root is not actually a location (more like a boundary), the saved file is placed in the last location you saved to (from anywhere on your computer). Weird though, you'd think you'd get a message.

If you want to find your file it is easy if you remember the file name. Just press [Windows key]+[E] ´..this will open up your browser. Normally the root is located on the C:\ so you want to double click to open it. In the top left corner of that screen you should see a search tool saying "Search OSDisk (C:)". There you type the file name of the file you want to locate and press enter. After that you just have to wait a while when windows is locating the file.

I had already done that - to no avail.

Hmm, I tried it again today and the file was saved in my DAW's program folder. On reflection that does make sense. I wonder what I was smoking yesterday ;)

Root is not a place, it is a frame of mind. Root is everywhere and nowhere. Click your heels together three times and say "There is no place like Root." :clown:

Root is the boundary of a container..it contains nothing itself. Infinity has no root.

Au contraire ...
