I guess for sound designers like you there has to be sth. like presets, only for tracks. Wait a minute...
What about using construction kits as a start for own creations?
Personally, it depends on the project. I don't mind using presets and loops if the album/music I want to create require it. I'm not a purist...2ZrgE wrote:Funny thing, I have no problem at all producing (never ever had writer's block or sth like that since I began this stuff), but I just don't have enough time/patience for sound design, so I mainly tweak presets. No one ever complained btw.

Yes of course. This is cheating!
Your preset pack contains 500 presets? It's a bigger cheating.
Moreover....You use a daw that is programmed a developer? You cheat again!
Program your own daw, or use a wave editor, to create your tracks!
You own a hardware synth - this already has presets, another cheating.....
BTW, you didn't buy the software you use? Another big cheat.
He is said to have created a composition game that involved using dice.deastman wrote:Its a little-known fact that Mozart composed all his music while thinking about the M1 house piano patch. After that, he was imprisoned for using a preset. This is a true fact. I read about it on KVR.T-CM11 wrote:I know what you're saying, but it's still a bad example. Are you a fraud if you're thinking about an M1 preset while making something completely different? Mozart scribbled down compositional symbols on a piece of paper - he didn't program instructions that (necessarily) resulted in a certain sound.billcarroll wrote:Mozart was a fraud since he composed music using preset instruments.
